I am currently 40+3 and a first time Mum. Booked to be induced on 3rd September which would take me 12 days over.. just wondering when other first time mums went into labour? Is there truth in the myth that first time mums go far over? Or was anyone early?

Just for fun! Xxx

40+ 10 but well worth the wait!

ToffeeAppleCaramel · 24/08/2020 11:49

My DD was born at 41.5, I was due to be induced the next day so she arrived just in time for me to skip that.

From my antenatal class of 10 first time mums 6 were early and 4 were late. But I think that is a slightly unusual spread.

29 weeks here

BlusteryShowers · 24/08/2020 11:52

Twizbe · 24/08/2020 11:53

Dollywilde · 24/08/2020 11:56

Had a sweep at 40 weeks on my due date, irregular contractions started the next night at 40+1, waters went early hours of 40+4 and she was born at the very end of that day.

HarrietM87 · 24/08/2020 13:50

Induced at 40+12 - was a long wait!

Grumpy19 · 24/08/2020 14:27

40 + 16. He really didn't want to come out!

nokia3210567 · 24/08/2020 14:28

Induced and then ended yo having an emergency csection so he was born at almost 43 weeks!

chooseausername · 24/08/2020 14:28

40+11. DD came exactly 24 hours before I was supposed to be induced.

TakeMeToYourLiar · 24/08/2020 14:29

Was induced at 40+ 14 he came by EMCS 2 days later

Xmasfairy86 · 24/08/2020 14:30

41 naturally with first.
second was induced at 41 and she arrived 41+2

Buntyjones · 24/08/2020 14:31

Went into labour on my due date and she was born the day after so 40+1 for me - surprisingly punctual!

DustyMaiden · 24/08/2020 14:31

33 plus 4

Cardboard33 · 24/08/2020 14:42

36+6.

There were 6 of us in my NCT group, 3 of were born before 38 weeks, 1 was pretty much bang on due date and the final 2 were both 2 weeks late. There were 4.5 weeks between the due dates but there ended up being almost 12 weeks between them - late Feb through to early May. They were all born in due date order and we all went into labour "spontaneously" which the NCT "teacher" was shocked about but there we go!

Ultimately though you can't do anything about when they will come, most will just come when they want unless there are medical reasons for them to be born earlier.

EalingMother · 24/08/2020 14:44

39 weeks, 6 days

OccasionalNachos · 24/08/2020 14:46

40+4, which I was pleased about as I was tired and sore (not that giving birth improved that Grin but at least I wasn’t pregnant any more)

Julmust · 24/08/2020 14:49

40 + 7

Cheeseycheeseycheesecheese · 24/08/2020 14:51

Ds arrived bang on 37 weeks.
Very dramatic entrance in that my waters never broke, I never got a show and neither me or the mat unit believed I was in labour, he arrived 20 minutes after we got to the hospital and we only went because DH insisted.

EssElsiee · 24/08/2020 15:12

41+6!!! X

MrsSpenserGregson · 24/08/2020 15:17

40 +6

Those were the loooooooongest 6 days of my life!

Second DC born at 39 weeks exactly. Both labours were exactly the same length, even starting and finishing at the same time of day / night, and my waters didn't break naturally with either. With DC1 the midwife broke my waters when I was 9cm dilated, and DC2 was born with waters intact. "It's a balloon!" exclaimed my DH (who doesn't have the best grasp of biology) down at the business end ...

Wolfgirrl · 24/08/2020 15:20

36+6, born after a longggg induction due to type 1 diabetes. I cant even imagine being pregnant for another 5 weeks after that! I was quite fed up already!

Londongirl03 · 24/08/2020 15:42

40+10 via EMCS

GetTheSprinkles · 24/08/2020 15:52

I went into labour a week after due date and he was born 2 days later. Good luck!

countdowntobaby2020 · 24/08/2020 15:54

I don't even know why but I'd really convinced myself I was going to go over. People would be counting down to the due date and saying things like "oooh only three weeks to go!" and I'd always reply "yeah but first babies are normally late" so I got a bit of a shock when he arrived at 38+6!
