Hi there, I’m about 6 weeks. Doctor google suggests hip pain is usual in second trimester and not unusual in the first. Hopefully someone with better experience will come along soon!!

I've got almost the exact same thing (17 weeks today) - hip pain while sleeping, started to hurt as well when I went on a really long walk. Right hip which has bothered my very slightly in the past, left hip as well when sleeping (though that never has before).

My mum suggested that its probably the relaxin - ligaments around the hips being more loose them normal, so you feel the strain more when your leg 'hangs'.

I've found turning over then putting part of the duvet or a pillow/cushion between my legs when I'm lying on my side helps, because it gives the top hip a break.

Its annoying but I'm hoping it won't get much worse and will just resolve itself? I haven't spoken to the doctor about it because, I mean, what are they going to do?

I used to get this soooo bad up until a few weeks ago (25 weeks now). No longer get hip pain, it’s all in my back now 😂
All sounds totally normally to me, and I definitely recommend a pregnancy pillow (or just get any old pillow and put it between your legs lol).

I had SPD when pregnant both times. Might be worth looking it up and seeing if it fits
