Baby movements at 34 weeks, anterior placenta

hi all. Due to my anterior placenta i started to feel my baby's movements around week 20-21 and the more the baby grew the stronger the kicks. From week 32 the movements didn't feel like kicks anymore but more like pushing and lighter and i ended up going into the hospital with reduced movements at 33 weeks. I had a CTG and a scan which were both normal. The movements picked up 2 days the CTG but now they are again quiter and feel like the baby is pushing my tummy rather than the kicks I used to get.
Is this normal? I was expecting for the kicks to continue and become stronger not lighter.
I don't want to waste the medical staff time if this is normal.
I am a FTM so don't know what to expect.

If you're concerned. She please call the midwife unit. Better safe than sorry.

I had anterior placenta. Was in a few times with reduced movements. It's scary. But always worth getting checked out. Speak to your midwife about your concerns

Other people's experiences will differ. Some people, like me, will say they felt baby less. The movements felt different. Was more sweeping movements. Not kicks per say. Though, I have nothing to compare it to as it was my first pregnancy. Thankfully everything was okay, baby had to be monitored throughout my labour due to being in for reduced movements. And the midwife not being happy with how her heart rate was recovering between contractions. She was born safely at 40+9

Some people, will be told that the movements changing are a sign of an issue.

Morning DJBebe,

I’m also 34 weeks pregnant with my first with an anterior placenta. I had kicks from about 24 weeks up to around 29/30 then the movements became more rolls and nudges.

Now they are definitely as you described, pushing out against my stomach and sides. I keep joking that they are trying to make their escape Blush

I was told by my midwife to expect this change when I went to check babys movements when they changed week 29/30. I hope this helps put your mind at ease but definitely go get your little bubba checked if that feeling of doubt just won’t go away Smile

The baby is also in a transverse position which probably doesn't help either. 🙈🤦‍♀️
Hoping the baby will turn as was head down at 29 weeks but then decided to turn transverse @32 weeks which coincides with the change in movements. xx
