When did your cycle restart while breastfeeding?

Just wondering how long it took others cycles to start again after pregnancy and breastfeeding?
DD is now 7&1/2 months still wakes up 2-3 x a night to feed and 3x during the day. I feel like this will probably hold them off for quite some time?

Mine didn't... I got pregnant!

About 6 weeks after birth - EBF until 6 months and extended BF to 2. I thought I was one of the unlucky ones but my GP said it’s fairly common.

Came back at 1 year, still feeding pretty regularly day and night!

about 5 months. .DD was ebf

DS1 18 months
DS2 4 months

As soon as I was down to two feeds a day (around 9-10 months).

Mine returned around 6 months when I slightly reduced feeds and introduced solids (DD was exclusively bf til over a year.) I seemed to get mine back much quicker than other bf mums I knew at the time.

6 weeks! Still feeding my 3 year old once at night, and 38 weeks pregnant.

Almost exactly a year (1 year and 5 days). Fell pregnant first cycle.

4 weeks to the day after I completely stopped, even though I'd just been giving one morning feed for a few months. Baby was just over 1 year by this point. I know friends feeding babies at age 2 whose periods didn't return until baby was around 18 months, but also know several people who (accidentally and not) fell pregnant whilst bf.

13 months

EBF up to 6 months then fed on demand including a LOT of night feeding.

Mine was 6 weeks!

At 1 year when I stopped breast feeding

5 months with my first baby. The mums at my breastfeeding support group were really surprised and said it was quite early.

I have heard that its the night feeding hormones which are linked to return of periods. So it was a surprise to me since she was still feeding at night when mine returned, and continued to feed at night until she was 18 months.

Baby #2 is nearly 5 months and no signs of it coming back yet this time

16 months

After 3 months with both and both ebf and fed through the night!

Mine came back a month after I stopped

Just before my children’s second birthdays each time (four children) all breastfed overnight at that stage still too.

13 months

17m with DS1. Got pregnant with DS2 after 2 cycles.

He's now 3mo. Sorry to jump on the thread, but last time I really felt a lot of movement in and around where (I guess) my ovaries are - as if everything was remembering how to have a period. Anyone else felt this? Honestly, there was so much going on I took multiple pregnancy tests as I thought I must be feeling something kicking!

2 years almost exactly to the day!

4 months. And I was feeding A LOT. I knew I’d ovulated so was expecting it.

It may not last beyond stopping feeding yet as I haven't, but my periods are so different now it’s been life changing.

My mum BF all 4 of us and hers came back at 6 weeks with each.

3 weeks after DS1s very last feed when he was 20 months. Had reduced feeds as much as possible to kick-start my cycles but had to fully stop. Fell pregnant with DS2 after 4 cycles.

Breastfeeding DS2 now at 15 months and still don't have my cycles back. Not planning on any more kids so this is lovely really 😂.

After one missed feed. DS 3 weeks; dd 10 weeks. But I got mastitis first. Then period. Then thrush due to the anti-biotics. I found bf a bit grim all round. Better with DD because I knew the ropes a bit.

Dc1 fully breastfed: 3 months
Dc2 bottle fed: 2 months

(I was surprised that breastfeeding didnt stop my periods or make me lose weight any faster!)
