7 Days late but BFN

Hi Everyone
I have an 11 month old daughter but for the first time EVER, am 7 days late for no reason. I’ve taken a test most days (FRER so trustworthy ones). My last period was 15th July, I had one spot of blood on the 30th and nothing since then. We were using the withdrawal method so pregnancy would be unlikely (but not impossible I’m aware). Can someone tell me what the heck is going on? Any experiences? I would have thought a BFN at this point would mean no baby but google is full of people who got a BFP on day 10 etc. Please share as I’m pulling my hair out, a pregnancy would be fine, just would like to know either way Confused

I randomly am 7-14 days late once a year. I think being late once is a while is somehow normal and not pregnancy related. I'd call your GP and see what they say.

I didn't get a + until I was 12 days late....
And using the withdrawal method does not make a pregnancy "unlikely" unless you're avoiding your fertile period....

Thanks both for your responses. I was waiting for a coil to be fitted but with Covid it didn’t happen. Naively I thought chances were slim as it took over a year for us to catch with our DD. If I’m pregnant that’s fine, I just want to know now, the uncertainty is killing me!

I’ve just taken another FRER with FMU and it’s completely negative. Does anyone know at what point you would contact your GP?

Gps generally aren't interested until you've missed at least two (if not three) periods. This is because (even if unusual for you) it is not remotely uncommon to have a longer/weird cycle from time to time. Especially given you are less than a year post partum...

@physicskate Thank you that’s good to know! I’ll just continue to wait it out. Given how late I am I don’t see me getting a BFP so will wait for AF to turn up Sad
