Tomorrow I have my first official appointment since finding out I was pregnant 6 weeks ago... I had 4 very strong pregnancy tests, have had symptoms off and on, haven't had any bleeding whatsoever and have now missed two of my usually clockwork periods - yet I'm still feeling terrified that they're going to tell me it was all a mistake tomorrow!

Tomorrow is mainly for blood tests - what else should I expect? Will they test my HCg? Make me do another test? Trying to reduce my nerves by being as prepared as possible...

Congratulations! Is it your booking appt tomorrow? A lot of trusts are doing things slightly differently due to covid but generally you’ll give a urine sample, have your bloods taken and answer a LOT of questions about your health, any family history of health problems (worth asking your mum and your partner’s mum of anything that might be of note - my mum had preeclampsia with me, for example, which means I have to take asprin throughout my pregnancy), what your current situation (is your partner the baby’s dad, are you and your partner related, what you do for work) and things like ethnicity, age, etc etc. Most of it will be easy to answer, just the family histories you may need to know. Think mine took about 40mins in total.
Hope that helps and good luck tomorrow!

Thanks Skyblue, that's really useful stuff. I'm not entirely sure if it's my booking appointment tomorrow - I have to say, the couple of phone calls I've had with the midwives so far have been quite rushed and not very clear. Hopefully seeing someone face to face will clear up the next few months and what's going to happen. I know I've got another appointment next week as well though, so maybe this is just going to be blood being taken. Either way, I can't wait to get it done and dusted!

Thank you! We must be around the same number of weeks as I've not long had my booking appt etc - I'm either 10+4 or 10+3 depending on whether you go from LMP or the two early scans I've had. My second pregnancy but the last one ended in MMC sadly.
Hope your appointment goes well and you get a bit of clarity in what to expect - everything seems a bit all over the place at the mo with Covid, unfortunately, a lot of systems have changed.
