Hello!
I’m currently 7 weeks 4 days after a successful frozen transfer in July Grin
I had a 7 week scan this week and all is looking food. I spoke to a midwife today who’ll do my booking in appointment over the phone in a few days. She told me I’ll be under a consultant and will have extra scans because I had IVF. But she didn’t elaborate. Does anyone know much about this?

I’m not complaining about having extra scans but I was looking forward to feeling like a normal pregnant person...
I’m 31 and this was a first IVF round (very lucky).

Congratulations! Prob just the one extra scan about 34-36 weeks to check placenta etc.

IVF pregnancies can lead to placenta being less effective in the last few weeks and sometimes they opt to induce you a week or two early.

Re consultant led - if you have a healthy pregnancy with no concerns you can ask fo be passed back to midwifery led that's up to you. As with above If all going smoothly you can also still opt for birth centre and midwifery led birth rather than consultant led. Just all depends how your body takes to pregnancy. Mine has hated it Grin

Good luck!

Thank you @Fredsgirl19 that’s so helpful and makes a lot of sense. I feel like it’s really important to be aware that it’s my choice at the end of the day so that’s really good to know. Thank you. I’m sorry to hear it hasn’t been smooth for you x

@MorgenMuffel thank you! Amazing. I’ll definitely take a look as I hadn’t spotted that thread. Definitely keen to chat to others. I almost felt like an imposter at my ultrasound on Monday...
That’s interesting. Perhaps it varies from region to region?
