Flu Jab - October due dates

I just spoke to the immunisation team at my hospital and they said they recommend the flu jab in September as season will start again then.

I was told in early pregnancy by my midwife that I shouldn't bother with it as the bulk of my pregnancy was over the summer, plus it was the beginnings of Covid when we spoke about it.

Anyone have any thoughts on this - I'd be 35/36 weeks by then - bit worried its quite late on to have it - any affects on the baby, and would I be more prone to reacting to it at that stage?

maybe just being nervous about everything at the moment!

I'm due at the end of october and the midwife has recommended that I get the flu jab, I'm also asthmatic and if I got bad flu then I might need medication if it caused an asthma flare up for me, some of which isn't ideal during pregnancy.

I've had flu jabs for the past 3 years and all I get is a stiff arm so I'm just trusting it'll be similar again this year, it's not a live version of the virus so shouldn't do any harm to baby.
