Missed miscarriage - what should I do?

This is my 5th pregnancy and I’ve previously had two mmc but they have both been discovered at my first scan.

This time I’ve taken two clear blue tests and the result has gone from 2-3 weeks last Friday down to 1-2 weeks this morning.

I would only have been 5 weeks so I don’t know if I need to get checked out or should I just wait for it to pass.

After my first which was medically managed I had a horrendous infection and was really ill, my second I just waited for it to pass naturally with advice from the epu

This time I hadn’t got as far as even contacting the midwife so I don’t know what I should do.

Get a scan first. There are a few reasons why a test might show less HCG. I wouldn't rule yourself out yet.

I think that’s probably a good idea. Im so sure it a mmc as I had a massive migraine the last two days which suggests a huge hormone change.
Does anyone know If you can phone the epu direct or do I have to go through my gp surgery?

Hey @WutheredOut sorry you’re having a crappy time. When I had an early miscarriage about the same time I went to EPU and they wouldn’t scan me as I just wasn’t far enough along and my pregnancy tests were getting less and less positive. They did do a blood test though and then repeated which showed falling levels and a non viable pregnancy. If i were to do it again I would just wait and not put myself through all the stress. On a positive side I got pregnant 3 months later and currently being kicked at 38 weeks pregnant. Good luck.

How are you doing @WutheredOut ?

WutheredOut · 20/08/2020 09:09

I had to phone my surgery about my asthma review so I mentioned that I thought I was miscarrying and the receptionist said to phone the maternity unit at our local hospital.
They were engaged so I’m just going to sit it out a few more days and see what happens.
Still no pain or niggles and my boobs really hurt - I’m holding on to a teeny bit of hope still I think and if I go to epu then I’ll know for certain and I don’t think I want to 🤦‍♀️

I had the same experience as @chefwifelife EPU wouldn't scan me as i was only 5 weeks and my tests were getting lighter and went from 1-2 weeks to 'not pregnant'. The doctors had me in for a blood test and i had to wait a whole weekend for the results which was horrible. I really hope you have a happy outcome OP xxxxxx
