Decorating the nursery

We're about to start decorating the nursery which I'm very excited about!

Can anyone recommend a good off white paint for the nursery? Who knew there were so many different shades of white! 🤣

We're having a little girl so the room is going to be off white with touches of blush pink, grey and maybe a bit of silver/rose gold/copper - if anyone has a similar scheme and you've bought anything lovely then I'd love some recommendations.

Also looking for some nice blush pink/patterned bunting - has anyone seen any anywhere?

Any help appreciated! x

Farrow and ball peignoire is lovely pinky grey. It’s quite dark but “great white” is the shade lighter and is a lovely off white pinkish grey. I have it in my room and love it!

Clay white by crown is beautiful!

Soon2bemummyof3 · 18/08/2020 14:08

And it's available in their breatheasy range too :) so no fumey paint smell!

Monkeyseesmonkeydoesnt · 18/08/2020 14:11

I'm using dulux rock salt which is the latest of pale grey

Trashtara · 18/08/2020 15:00

Valspar soft wool is a lovely warm off white.

Raindrop87 · 18/08/2020 21:57

Lots of good suggestions, I'll be picking up some tester pots!

Have a look on Etsy for bunting and other accessories, a lot of makers will custom make with your choice of colours x

Nutmeg white. Also check out this thread:

We used little knights paint in dd's nursery. It's voc free and anti-mould so I was allowed to help paint while pregnant!

Not an overwhelming selection of colours, but proper quality.

Another vote for great white farrow and ball. Which can be colour matched at brewers if you want too for cheaper paint times. @Homassy I have it in my bedroom too ☺️

Redhair23 · 19/08/2020 16:40

We used this www.littlegreene.com/clockface
It’s got a sort of warm grey hue to it.

ChampooPapi · 19/08/2020 16:40

@Raindrop87 I seriously suggest colour matching, it's such a good service but only brewers or Johnson's do it exactly (b and q are not allowed to match Farrow and ball/little green ect).

Then you can order paint charts for free from a variety of different suppliers and then pick whichever you like best, and they match it absolutely perfectly. You will never look back, it makes it a little more then using Dulux ect, but you get the pigment and opacity that you'd expect from really high end paint through the matching. Little green are the national trusts paint brand and send an amazing paint chart for free 👍

Fired Earth Silica White.

YesINameChangeEveryDay · 19/08/2020 18:25

Just make sure its fully wipeable. When ds was a new born he actually shit up the wall. Something I never thought would happen.

peachypetite · 19/08/2020 18:45

We renovated our new home last year and have washable paint everywhere, baby-proofing!

Raindrop87 · 20/08/2020 22:07

So I bought some tester pots today and initially felt silly for buying tester pots of white but oh my god, finding a nice white is so difficult! Have been finding them either too beige, yellow, grey or blue! 🤯

@Raindrop87 order the paint cards

ChampooPapi · 22/08/2020 09:17

ChampooPapi · 22/08/2020 09:19

www.paint-paper.co.uk/shop/paint/fired-earth-paint/colour-card-fired-earth/fired-earth-colour-card-paint-collection/

That's out of stock but a quick Google and sure you'll find it

ChampooPapi · 22/08/2020 09:20

And of you want a white that is WHITE

www.farrow-ball.com/paint-colours/all-white

That's the one

@Raindrop87

Rainallnight · 22/08/2020 09:21

I love great white by F&B too.

ChampooPapi · 22/08/2020 10:10

@Rainallnight yes I have it in my bedroom but it had a lilac/grey tint which the op doesn't appear to want. I think she needs something very pure white 🤷‍♀️
