I'm 10 weeks pregnant today had a scan at 7-4 and everything was fine
Woke up at 1am to find blood in my knickers nothing when I wipe just blood in knickers
Does this look like the start of a miscarriage?
So scared right now it's now 3am so have to wait until morning to call EPU
😥

Thank you xx

I had a similar thing at 7 weeks, I passed a lot of brownish blood followed by fresh red with clots. Bleeding is very common in early pregnancy. That said, you do definitely need to get checked out. I know it's unbelievably hard, but try not to think the worst before it's confirmed. Sending hugs Flowers

Nothing when I wipe this was just in my knickers, I have no pain or anything
Just tried to call EPU and there closed because of corona 😔
I have a midwife call tomorrow xx

@Txo7 the epu should not be closed, I would look for a number for community midwives and contact them and get their advice x

I bled for 6 weeks straight from 8 weeks onwards. My bleeds ranged from bright red heavy blood which would pour out like a tap, to brown old blood like that in my pants but nothing when wiping. Currently 35 weeks with a healthy baby. It's likely that your midwife will ask you to monitor the bleeding at first, to see if it happens again (that's what mine said). We ended up booking a private scan where they were able to see the heart beat and provide some reassurance. A few days later I experienced a heavy bleed so EPU saw me and scanned, saw heartbeat again and checked my cervix which was closed, so wasn't actively miscarrying at that point. Followed this up with a few more hospital visits and the bleeding started to taper off around 14 weeks, and I haven't bled since 16 weeks. They were able to find from the scans that I had a subchoronic haematoma, which is a pool of bruising and they found it in my uterus. It wasn't near the placenta or baby, so didn't do them any harm. Hope that helps to provide some reassurance or advice is the midwives as rent able to offer too much support at the moment.

@Txo7 could you go to A&E if you are worried?
EPU should not be closed i agree.

Lollol86 · 18/08/2020 10:24

@Txo7 I’m actually shocked they are closed, is there another trust by you? X

Txo7 · 18/08/2020 10:51

Another hospital and mine work together so I called them and they can see me tomorrow at 2:40 she said bleeding is common at this stage and to monitor it but I haven't bled anymore it was literally them streaks.
I explained to her that I was high risk pregnancy and I'm also on antibiotics for cellulitis so she said rather me worry she can fit me in for tomorrow

There's no more blood I'm just baffled xx

@Txo7 you can just get some bleeding also it looks brown so that's old blood too. Good luck for your scan let us know how you get on xx

Txo7 · 18/08/2020 11:35

I hope so I've had a rough time since finding out I was pregnant it caused a flare of my condition plus I've had 2 bouts of cellulitis and now this

SunnySideUp2020 · 19/08/2020 13:22

@Txo7 this is just a tiny bit of discharge. Wouldn't worry about it.
Did you get a scan?

Lollol86 · 19/08/2020 16:08

@Txo7 how did you get ok? Xx

darkandstormy86 · 19/08/2020 16:13

Hope it all went okay... I had a bleed with my son. I had a clot near his sac I think it was?? Can't remember what it was called sorry xxxx

zippityzip · 19/08/2020 16:23

Op that looks like old blood as opposed to bright red fresh blood. Which is actually better than getting fresh blood.

It could be numerous reasons - but if it's stinging when you wee it could be thrush/kidney infection/UTI too - don't wait for EPU you can go straight to A&E and they can refer you for a scan.

At A&E they can check your blood pressure and urine etc which sounds like it's needed.

If it's reassuring for you at all - I had a scan at 7w which showed a bleed just underneath the baby which he said could be from implantation and don't be alarmed if some old bloody comes out at some point as it's not affecting the baby.

Hope you got checked and all is ok.

Txo7 · 20/08/2020 07:31

Thank you all so much,

I've gotta go in for surgery tomorrow. I was going to let it pass naturally but the doctor said as I'm 10 weeks it may be quite painful and I have my little girl here I don't want her to see me go through that it isn't fair on her 💔

I'm just grateful I have my little girl their are some people who can't have children whatsoever 💔❤️
