I'm heading out for dinner tonight and rather fancy a steak...is it completely off limits or is medium/well done ok??

Well done is fine, id be careful with medium

I’m going out tonight too (30+3) and I’ve been fantasising about steak too! Well done it just wouldn’t be worth it, I’ll be ordering a medium steak Smile

@DobbieFreeElf I completely agree that well done isn't worth it that's why I'm not sure...really fancy it though!

If your early on do well done. If later medium well. I woukdnt go below that its an unesessary risk. Get a cut with nore fat so it doesn't dry out as much ie not fillet

Raindrop87 · 17/08/2020 16:47

I'm 25 weeks...would you say medium-well done?

I’ve been swerving it as frankly I like mine blue and it’s just not worth it having it medium/well! But if you’re not in early pregnancy I reckon you could get away with medium-well. (Whether you’ll get a shitty look from the waiter if you’re visibly pregnant, as I got when we went out for a dinner on my due date and I ordered a small spritzer, is another matter. I’m convinced he purposely made it weaker than normal despite it being entirely my choice, on my due date, and one of three weak drinks I’d had throughout the whole pregnancy).

@Dollywilde It's so funny isn't it, I was thinking about if I'd get a reaction being pregnant and ordering steak. It's my birthday is a few weeks and I'd love a glass of prosecco as a treat when we go out for my birthday dinner but I don't think it's even worth going down that route in terms of being judged...🙈

I'd go medium-well. But I'm completely avoiding it at the moment as I love it blue. One of the first dinners I will be demanding DH makes me post birth x

@Raindrop87 - I’ve had 3 over the course of this pregnancy - one in my 2nd trimester on my birthday (at home due to lockdown) and two in my 3rd trimester - the day I finished for mat leave and my due date, both at a restaurant with food. I’m not going to lie and say I didn’t feel a tiny bit Blush at ordering but I figure it’s good practice for the inevitable judgment when baby arrives (feeding, how we raise them etc) so I just practice my responses in case anyone says anything. Re the steak, personally if I liked medium-well I’d go for it and practice a Paddington Bear Hard Stare for if you get a sense of disapproval!

It's needs to be cooked through.... no blood

Tastes horrible

Was the first thing I wanted when my baby arrived! 🤣
