Thought I was 8 weeks, measuring 6 weeks

Hi all

Bear with me as I want to get all details down!

I went for a private scan due to very light bleeding when I wipe after dtd.

My last period was a miscarriage on 18th June.
I thought I ovulated 7th July. I had a positive pregnancy test on 16th July (early test and very faint) Which would make 7-8 weeks pregnant.

At the scan they found pregnancy sac, baby and fetal pole and no heartbeat. They said that baby is 4mm which makes me 6 weeks pregnant. The scan was very blurry and couldn't make much out and They are rescanning me in two weeks time.

The bleeding has also stopped.

Has anyone else had this?

Sorry you’re going through this, and sorry to hear of your previous miscarriage as well. It’s a super tough time.
Can I ask, did you have an internal scan?
Also - did you have a negative pregnancy test after your miscarriage on the 18th June?
The difference in dates does seem a little worrying if your first positive test of the new pregnancy was on 16th July. But it’s possible that was still leftover HCG from the last pregnancy, and you could have ovulated later than that. It’s normal not to see a heartbeat if the length is 4mm only, and especially if it wasn’t internal. Hopefully some others will be along to share their stories (my miscarriage stories aren’t similar here) - it May all turn out to be fine or this may be another early miscarriage, I’m sorry. Only time will tell - wishing you strength getting through the next couple of weeks until your next scan.

Hello, I can’t offer advice, but going through a similar situation myself. Twin 1 is measuring 8w 0days as of 19/8 and Twin 2 6w 1day with low fetal heart rate. I also went for a private scan. I am unsure whether to wait the normal scan or go for another private one in a few weeks time. Sending love x
