Baby movements?

Hi all,

I am a first time mum (1 miscarriage last year) and I am currently 16+2 weeks. I think I have felt some movements - that little bubble popping/twitch muscles feeling - and my midwife has advised that that is more than likely baby wiggling about. However, the movements seem to be very sporadic and few and far between and, you can understand, because of my previous experiences with MC I do have some underlying anxiety about things going wrong. When will I start to feel more definite movements?

Thanks all ☺️

I started to feel my baby kick (also FTM) around 18 weeks. They were all over the place with no real pattern until around 20 weeks.
It's good you can feel baby but don't worry too much on a pattern for a while yet. They don't usually get into a pattern until 22-24 weeks.
I only feel my baby kick so early as he's all at the front.

I’m 23 weeks and it’s only in the past week that I’ve felt him pretty frequently, and probably another couple of weeks until that forms some sort of pattern.

@lockdownpregnancy hi, thanks for the reassurance. I had a bit of a wobble because The midwife said to look for a pattern at the 16 week appt and I’ve been abit on edge with it since! Thank you

I’m nearly 21 weeks and haven’t even felt movement yet....! Bit worrying for me, but consultant says not unusual so don’t worry.

My midwife said by 24 weeks you should be feeling movement every day, so don’t worry that you aren’t yet, it’s still very early.

Same as the other posters, no real pattern until around 20 weeks. Smile

You’re all wonderful and have really put my mind at ease, thank you ☺️
