Bleeding 6+ weeks after giving birth

I gave birth to my LG 6weeks3days ago and I am still bleeding. Bright red,pad needing changing 6ish times a day so not light.
This is driving me crazy. I feel fine otherwise but its how much it looks like proper blood not period blood thats really starting to worry me.
I called docs for our 6 week check a week ago and receptionist told me I had to wait for app by post between 6-8 weeks.

@Kasabian37 I would ring again tomorrow and explain you are concerned about your bleeding, that seems like a lot for 6 weeks ago.

I'm definitely going to i just wondered about other peoples experiences really.
It just doesn't seem right.
My fourth baby too but my other three it only lasted 2 weeks if that

I had it for 9 weeks and was told it was normal as long as it’s gradually getting lighter.

I think mine went on for 6-7 weeks with dd 2, I was worried it would never end! Then one day - (sorry maybe too much info) I passed a large clot around the size of a 10p and it just stopped. Worth a call to your GP tomorrow though if you are worried.

Im waiting for a call back from the doctor.
Its heavier today and fresh blood not period so I'm a little worried now
