Baby Thermometer & Other Product Recommendations?

Have shopped for all the “big items”, now working my way through the rest 😊 Wondering if anyone can give their recommendations for good baby/child thermometers? There’s so many different types!

Also, are there any items that maybe aren’t “essential” but that you found useful? 🤔

We can see this thread is a little old now and some of the suggestions may be out of date, but if you’ve landed here looking for recommendations, we’ve recently updated our best baby thermometer page with lots of great options as recommended by real parents – we hope you find it useful. Flowers

I've bought this one, it's good as it also does room temperature and bath water so ticked a few things off my list in one go!

I've gone for this one as it can be used underarm for babies

Thanks for those 😊 I’ll have a look at both. There’s so many types with the digital/in-ear/non-contact 🙈

Underarm is recommended.

Seen that @Hercwasonaroll 😊 thanks! Another one of those things where the most expensive isn’t always the best? I’ve always been unsure about the non-contact ones but assumed that the in-ear ones might get good recommendations - they seem to have good reviews and be much more expensive than the digital ones but apparently they are known for being quite inaccurate 🤷🏻‍♀️

Hi @RWK29,
May I please ask which one you settled for and if you have used it yet?
I am looking for a baby thermometer myself and am confused by all the reviews and whether to choose an ear/forehead/rectal/underarm thermometer.

RWK29 · 01/10/2020 10:26

Hey @BurritoBumpMamma 😊 Haven’t used ours yet - baby is due in a few weeks. We just ended up opting for a couple of cheaper digital ones as all the reviews on them were better than the expensive ones 🙈 I think one was just from Amazon and one is Tommee Tippee. We’re also in Scotland so we’re lucky enough to receive one of the fab baby boxes that the government send out 😮 there was a digital in-ear one included in that so hopefully between the 3 of them we should be covered 🙈

Thank you @RWK29, I think buying a few cheaper ones sounds sensible. I wish you a safe delivery in a a few weeks!

Thanks @BurritoBumpMamma hope the rest of your pregnancy goes well ☺️
