Hi, I’m 19weeks +2 I went for an early gender scan and they told me I have an anterior placenta I’m not worried about it they said it’s nothing to worry about it just might be that I can’t feel baby move as early as some other mums, what I was wondering is I’ve started to what feels like muscle twitches in my stomach I’m a first time mum so I didn’t know if this was baby? And because of the placenta I didn’t know if some mums have felt this before? Please could you help. X

An anterior placenta is nothing to worry about! I had it with my first pregnancy. Only downside was I didn’t feel any baby movement until 22/23 weeks. The muscle twitching you felt is like baby which is so exciting :)

I have anterior placenta and I felt baby kick at 19 weeks.. everyone’s different, my midwife said they’re not supposed to tell you that you might not feel baby kick as early because it’s a load of rubbish! some women feel baby kick early, some late.. it don’t matter about your placenta, my little one kicks all the time☺️

I have an anterior placenta too. I started feeling kicks (as you say, like little muscle twitches / pops) at about 19/20 weeks but they weren’t strong or regular. Now 23 weeks and I feel the baby kick every day.

I hadn’t felt a single movement before my 20 week scan. I then got told at the scan it was anterior and low lying. I’m 25 weeks now and only just feeling more active movements and something every day now.

I have an anterior placenta but high up. I felt the wee muscles twinges from 13 weeks but is my 2nd baby. Totally sounds like you are feeling them. They become more defined. X
