Successful pregnancy after recurrent miscarriages.

Just that really, can anyone give me some hope of a successful pregnancy after recurrent miscarriages. (I’ve had 3 in the past 7 months and can’t seem to get past 8w1d) had some teats done and they have come back as normal. Waiting for our Karyotyping results and I will be asking my gp for blood tests tomorrow. (There’s no recurrent miscarriage clinic near me however I have been referred to gynaecology but there’s an 11month wait). Also did you do anything differently for your successful pregnancy?

I’m pregnant with my first child after 3 miscarriages (two were mmc discovered at a scan last year)
I had all the tests available at the recurring miscarriage clinic and everything came back fine. Partner also had tests for genetic issues and those also cake back clear. My consultant said to take 75mg of paracetamol daily as soon as I get pregnant again. She said there is no conclusive studies that have proven that it works, but it won’t harm trying. I’m now 22 weeks and everything is going ok.

Yes. I had four early miscarriages before dd. I took aspirin of my own accord for her. Never knew if it helped or just coincidence. Got pregnant unplanned in November last year. Didn't take aspirin as wasn't sure I needed it. Mmc at 10-11 weeks. Had some tests but nothing showed as wrong. Got pregnant second cycle after erpc and I took aspirin from ovulation. So far I'm 25 weeks. I don't know if it's the aspirin that helps but there's no harm taking it. I've also read about natural killer cells that cycle throughout the year and weirdly both my dd and this one will be November babies so maybe there's something in that. I've also read Frequent miscarriage can also be a sign of being very fertile. It's possible that your body is allowing eggs to implant that would normally be rejected. It's certainly true for me I've always got pregnant really easily. It is very hard but you will get there.

@bee222 do you mean aspirin? I've never heard of paracetamol being advised for miscarriage.

Frequent miscarriage can also be a sign of being very fertile. It's possible that your body is allowing eggs to implant that would normally be rejected. It's certainly true for me I've always got pregnant really easily. It is very hard but you will get there.

This sounds really logical. I’ve got pregnant twice on the first time trying. Second time was just one instance of unprotected sex. That was ectopic. I don’t know if it still counts for an ectopic.

Yes I have, but I discovered I have Factor V Leiden so it was relatively easy to medicate during pregnancy to ensure the baby was then ok.

You are able to choose where you are treated and treated, and if you can get to London I would recommend the recurrent miscarriage clinic at At Mary's hospital in Paddington. They are, or certainly were, world leaders in this field and I found them excellent.

I’ve had 7 miscarriages, and 0 successful pregnancies, but these where years ago. NHS testing came back unexplained, at my local hospital and also a women’s specialist hospital. I went private, got some explanation and told the chances of me ever having a successful pregnancy was extremely low due to a number of complications, referred for IVF and refused. 5 years later (without trying) I’m now 30weeks pregnant with my little girl. I’m classed as high risk, been monitored closely, and everything (fingers crossed) has gone ok so far. I have been on 150mg of aspirin since finding out and have been on fragmin injections, which I had never taken previously. So I agree with the PP about the asprin. Good luck.

My consultant hypothesised this was my issue. We never had any problems getting pregnant, first time every time. I had 5 miscarriages, then a successful pregnancy. Didn't do anything different. Then another miscarriage, and now 20 weeks pregnant with number 2.

It's hard, and awful to feel like there might not be an answer. But during all our investigations the consistent take-home message was "the majority of people have a baby in the end if they keep trying." It's not easy, though. Sorry for what you're going through, OP

I had two miscarriages in last few months. Currently am 10+1 and like you I never made it passed 8 weeks before. I have also taken 75mg aspirin every day since BFP. Had 3 scans this pregnancy (due to slight spotting and anxiety!) and saw heartbeat every time 💓Last scan was yes and we saw the baby move! It was magical 🥰🥰I know I'm still early but symptoms so different this time, really nauseous and haven't had that either time before. I take each day at a time but feel really positive so please don't lose hope. Best of luck x

Thank you all for your replies. I’ve heard so much about aspirin and was very close to taking it in my last pregnancy. I really wish I had now. I will be definitely talking it from my next bfp if We’re lucky enough. Your stories have given me so much hope and I’ve very sorry you all had awful losses ♥️ Xxx

I had 5 miscarriages and 2 ectopics (lost both tubes) and now 12 weeks with twins after 5 rounds of IVF

Hi op I suffered 2 MC last year consultant put me on 75mg of aspirin and tested my vitamin d which was low so was told to take that aswell. I'm now currently 30 weeks and 4 days pregnant all has went well xx

I had 3 miscarriages in a year. I had tests at a NHS recurrent mc clinic and no problems were found. I then got pregnant again and everything was fine. I didn’t do anything differently for the successful pregnancy. I asked the consultant about aspirin but was told not to take it as my test results were fine.

I had 3 miscarriages in last year, all mine never got past 8 weeks. Currently 20 weeks just had nhs anomaly scan all looking good.
Went through all the testing at the recurrent miscarriage clinic, all normal. Didn’t change anything.
