Early scan

hi, just after some reassurance. Went for an early scan today, thought I was 6w3d. However she could only see a gestation sac and yolk sac. She said this is pretty common and everything measured up okay with me being slightly earlier than 6w. I have a rescan booked in 3 weeks as they couldn't fit me in sooner. Husband is being positive but I cant help but worry. Has anyone else had this and all was okay when you had your re scan? The sonographer appeared positive?

This happened with my last pregnancy, thought I was 6 and a half weeks, went for an early scan and the pregnancy was measuring about 5 weeks with only the gestation and yolk sack, booked in 2 weeks later and he had grown and had a heartbeat! Try not to worry, the dates always get pushed back/forward x

@mummy2myJJ thank you! I had a chemical last cycle and just wanted confirmation all was okay and now I feel more worried lol. Hope these next 3 weeks hurry up! The scan is booked for the same day as our wedding anniversary (only date they had) so hopefully that's a good omen x

I had similar. I went for a private scan at what I thought was 7 weeks and 4 days. They did an internal scan and said that they could only see a sac and a yolk, no baby and they would therefore refer me to my local early pregnancy unit (EPU) as they thought it was an unviable pregnancy.

We cried the whole way home and were devastated. I got a call the next morning from the local EPU and they booked me for a scan the next morning.

When I got there I was so scared and my partner couldn't come in with me. Was expecting them to say that they would look today and then come back in a couple of weeks to see if there has been any change.

Got a shock when I had the scan as the sonographer found a fetal pole and heart beat. I was in fact 5 weeks and 6 days.

Still early days for me as this was only last week and I am now 7 weeks. But goes to show that it can be a positive outcome.
