Hi! Congratulations on your pregnancy! I am due 24th February and I am excited and nervous in equal measure! I have a 2 year old son at home and I am so grateful to be getting out of the first trimester and feeling more energetic ☺️

I'm really excited but same also really nervous about everything, I'm looking forward to getting into the second trimester in a week or so and getting some energy back!

Any new eight month symptoms?
Hospital bag on its way to being ready?! X

Ksi91 · 28/12/2020 10:07

@cat709
I'm planning on doing my bag sometime this week
Have a little feeling I may be early ☺️

cat709 · 28/12/2020 10:11

@Ksi91
Same! I've almost finished my bag, just because I don't want the stress later on and most stuff I've ordered as can't get to the shops. X

Ksi91 · 28/12/2020 12:36

@cat709 what stuff are you taking in if you don't mind me asking ?
I've searched the net for a list but it seems to be a little OTT but that could be my ignorance - it's my first I've no idea how much I'll need

I'm due Feb 19th, can I join?

This is my second. I went very overdue last time and ended up being induced so I haven't started packing a hospital bag yet.

cat709 · 29/12/2020 15:18

@StopSquirtingBleachOnCaneToads have you got any advice for first time mums like myself? Anything you wished you'd know before your first? Xx

MaryShelley1818 · 29/12/2020 17:45

I'm due my 2nd baby on the 12th February.

Although will be induced sometime between 38-39wks due to GD and being as old as the hills!

Dorset555 · 29/12/2020 20:38

Hi guys in due 7th feb do not too long to go now and just little bits here and there to go.
I feel like I can't wait to not be pregnant but I'm pretty nervous about how life will change too..I guess time will march on abs this baby can't stay inside for ever!!!
Quick question is it necessary to buy a baby carrier now and have ready to use from newborn..or better to wait a while to buy one? Was looking at ergo 360

Thanks and nice to hear about the other feb babies!!

StopSquirtingBleachOnCaneToads · 30/12/2020 01:06

@cat709

The best advice I can give you is to make sure you get what you need when you're in labour, and during your stay afterwards. Don't be afraid to speak up - you do not need to prove anything, you don't need to cope with pain if you don't want to, and you don't need to do something you aren't comfortable with just because a midwife or doctor tells you so. So many women who are otherwise very strong and outspoken become quite meek and mild when they go into labour. If I could go back and do it all again I would be much more forthright and insist on proper care.

Oh, also it's normal to get baby blues. I was unlucky and didn't have a good experience with birth and it left me feeling quite hollow/empty for those first few days. I felt I was supposed to be bursting with love and I wasn't. It took a little while to recover from the birth and for all those feelings to kick in. You may find the love hits straight away, but just in case you don't - dont panic, it's normal.
