Hi all. I had a growth scan at 33 weeks exactly and i am a bit worried the baby has a big head and short legs. 😥
What were your measurements at 33 weeks and also how will they compare with the baby's measurements at birth?
Thank you. x

I could have written this!!

I asked my midwife about it after, and she said that it’s perfectly normal and talked about how the head is much bigger at the start of pregnancy and the rest of the body has to catch up. Now just to wait and see I guess. I’d be interested to hear other people’s experiences

Scans have an error margin of something like 20% so they're not enormously accurate. And having a 61%ile head measurement is not big - both my kids are above 99%ile.

If any of the medically trained people were concerned you'd be meeting with a consultant and they'd be repeating the scan.

Hope this helps you to worry less.

My ds had the same, big head and short legs on his growth scans. He is 6 weeks old and perfectly healthy and in proportion lol.

Don't worry 💐
