Faint positive but negative digital?

Hi there, I was wondering if I could get some advice!

My last period started on the 25th June so I’m way past 20 days late (my average cycle is 33 days) and on Tuesday evening I took one of the pink dye Asda tests and got a really faint positive (I’ll attach the picture). So I was excited and did the other test the next morning and got a still faint but slightly more broad line! All was going well.

I took a digital test this morning for confirmation but it actually says not pregnant.

I was wondering if anyone has any experience of this?

I’ve been trawling through threads and seen so many utterings of “a line’s a line” but is that always the case?

Quick backstory, I’m 22 and I have endometriosis. Very soon I’m supposed to be going through a chemical menopause to alleviate my symptoms & this seemed like perfect timing.

The first photo is the first test at approx 8pm on Tuesday evening. The second test is approx 8am on Wednesday morning. I don’t think they’re evap lines as they became clear to me within the first minute or too.

Any advice? Thanks in advance!

Hi,

I can see a line on your asda test. Digital tests are less sensitive and require a higher level of the pregnancy hormone hCG to come up positive. hCG doubles every 2 days so try a digi again in a few days and see what it says!

First response early result tests are good for showing clear lines earlier, so maybe pop out and get one of those if you want a more definite line sooner.

Good luck!

Thank you for the reply! I’ve just ordered some first response that should be here tonight as no where near me seems to stock them.

Considering how late I am (a least 3 weeks), shouldn’t my body be producing enough HCG by now if I am pregnant or is that completely wrong?

Thanks!

It could have been that you never ovulated the first time round and therefore ovulated only 10-14 days ago and thats why you are late for last period, if the line gets darker then its a good sign and probably will mean you're just earlier than you thought

Ah I never thought of this! I never know/if I ovulate because of my endo. Thanks for the advice!

Also, just as an add-on my symptoms are:

  • Missed period
  • Cravings (major hankering got ready salted crisps which I never really eat)
  • Constipation/more frequent urge to go (kinda reminds me of during my period with the dreaded "period poops")
  • Sore/painful boobs (my nipples are usual really sore & sensitive during my period but this is my actual boob & not my nipples at all)
  • Fatigue (but suffer from this with endo anyways)
  • Cramping (but probably just my endo).
