Hello, please help me - and i apologise bout the spelling, poor grammar and content of this message but I am a bit scared.

DH and i just had sex, and afterwards, there was a brown discharge - does this mean the start of a miscarriage? - All clear up to now! - Six weeks gone.

Not sure megi. best to mention it to your gp monday. I wouldn't overly panic though as you can bleed whilst pg for other reasons.
Ihad similar spotting after sex when pg, it was a cervical erosion, and has nothing to do with your baby. Can be irritated by thrush too

Hi Megi,

From what I understand, sex during pregnancy can quite often cause bleeding. The Dr suggested it when I bled with dd.He told me that the cells around the cervix ect,are more sensitive & sex can cause them to bleed.

If you don't have any cramping ect & it just happened afterwards,it sounds like thats what caused it.

When I bled with dd,the hospital told me that I'd have to bleed an awful lot to be losing the baby -& I had bled continously for a week on 2 occasions.

It is worth mentioning it to your Dr or midwife.

Probably not. Bleeding can happen for lots of reasons. I had it for weeks.

I bled from 6 to 18 weeks with both my boys and had a low placenta with both of them too (this was suggested as a possible cause later on but the placenta moves up in most cases). It is scary and a nuisance but shouldn't really be too much of a problem if you're not getting any cramps or other symptoms. Take it easy and abstain from sex for a while to see if it stops.

brown blood is old blood

can be quite normal to bleed around implantation (6 weeks)

sex is not dangerous during pregnancy

please don't worry too much

you could try to arrange an early pregnancy scan next week if you want
