Bleeding after sex

Hello all,

Anyone had any experience with bleeding after Sex during pregnancy. I'm 7 weeks and it was quite bad after we last had sex. I have had two MC in the last ten months (6 and 12 weeks) and just can't face going back to the EPU.

I do have a private scan at 8 weeks, next week. Would love some reassurance or just plain honesty. Thanks.

Aww, sounds normal though. I bleed after because the tissue inside is so sensitive and because we're not doing it as much it's going to be sore. X

Thank you @567ap xx

Hi,
I almost always bleed after 'rough' sex when not pregnant, so when pregnant it doesn't take much! It's always a bit disconcerting because it looks like a light period to me, but three pregnancies, all the same issue, all healthy. Honestly, it's highly likely that there's nothing to worry about 🙂

Thanks @EntropyReversed that's really reassuring. Wish pregnancy wasn't so worrying!

I’d abstain from sex if that’s happening, personally. Every time I had sex I would have a very light bleed afterwards - took it as a sign by body was saying no thank you!

I was told it is often due to the cervix being aggravated by sex. I think if you’re bleeding afterwards then your cervix is perhaps more fragile or sensitive right now and is signalling that it can’t really handle it x

@Ellax thank you - I agree. We are going to stop for a while. I have a ludicrously high sex drive - even with swollen boobs and nausea! - but obviously the baby is way more important than anything else. Just keeping everything (including my legs) crossed for a healthy baby x
