Hiccups

Hi, I want to ask if someone have a similar experience.
I am 37 weeks now and my baby still have hiccups, several times a day by the almost same pattern (morning, afternoon, evening, night).

I have read that after week 32 it can mean that there is a problem with umbilical cord and is necessary to talk to healthcare..
I have spoken to my midwife and she said that as soon as I can feel regular movements of the baby, it's fine...

It is like this for couple of weeks now and by all measurements baby's movements are as should be, he grows as should and heart rate is strong and perfect.

Anyone experienced the same?
Thank you

My Ds had hiccups multiple times a day every day for the last few weeks of pregnancy. It kept me up at night as well as it was constant. But he was absolutely fine and healthy! Hes now 10mo and is just a perfect happy hiccuppy baby. Keep an eye on it if you're worried, but i think some babies just hiccup more than others Smile

Hi

Midwife and HV here. I have never heard that hiccups are worrying at all. Agree that if movements are ok then this is a really reassuring sign.

I experienced this too with DD, and after reading about the umbilical cord issue, called midwife in a panic. I was advised the same as you re: movements etc.

It was noticeable from around 30weeks, right up till she was born (39weeks), several times a day. I think I ended up calling hosp. about this 2-3 times, but they checked me out and everything was fine. If you are worried at all, there is no harm phoning midwife again and hopefully they’ll put your mind at rest or get you in to check up.

DD is now 9 mo and still hiccups after every meal Smile

I'm 37 weeks 3 days, and DD gets hiccups on average once a day. Some days not, and other days twice.
