Hey @sc93
Congratulations 🥳
I’m 25! Pregnant with my second baby. DD is 3 and a half and I’m about 5 and a half weeks. Due April 10th/12th (not sure as I ovulated earlier that usual so just waiting on a scan to confirm dates 😊)
How are you feeling? 😊

sc93 · 12/08/2020 12:42

@JoesM12
Thank you, congratulations to you too 🥰
This is my first after some troubles previously, I'm feeling everything! Anxious, nervous, happy, scared
I'm in the same boat as you waiting for my scan and be out of the worry zone
How about you? Xx

@sc93 Congratulations I'll join you too if you don't mind. Due 20th April so far. Only got my BFP Monday after 20 cycles TTC no 2. Are you going to keep testing every few days? Have you any symptoms?

@JoesM12 Congrats to you too. It's so exciting but so scary at the same time. The first 8 weeks are so hard!! xx

sc93 · 12/08/2020 14:08

@BFP2020 congratulations!! How do you feel?
I got my BFP on Sunday, we've been trying to conceive for a while, I eventually gave up hope but here we are
Waiting for my booking appointment which is in 3 weeks and then looking forward to the scan
Can't wait for this part to be over so I can stop worrying
I'm not going to keep testing, I haven't heard many people that do this, what is the reason for this? (I might change my mind)
The only symptoms I have is consistently needing to pee and my breasts are oh so sore 😩
But I LOVE the reason as to why they are!
How about you? Xx

@sc93 I still can't quite believe it but I'm so happy but so worried also. I was due to go in Monday for a baseline and had the prescription to start injections for IUI this week. I've ridiculously sore boobs can't even move in the bed with them. I live in Ireland its different over here scan wise. I was going Private for IUI so decided i'd book in there and get 2 early scans at 6 weeks and 8 weeks for piece of mind. Will go to my GP next week once I see the 2-3 weeks pregnant on a CB digi and they will then refer me to the maternity hospital and I will get my 12 week dating scan from them.
The reason for keep testing is the HCG doubles every 48 hours so the lines get darker. I tested Monday with a boots test and the line was fairly strong for 11 DPO then I did a Digi got pregnant 1-2 weeks then did a frer Tuesday just to be sure. Have one more FRER and one digi so will test with FRER tomorrow and one line has gotten darker i'll be happy then I'll wait until Tuesday and do Digi once I see those word 2-3 weeks then I won't test anymore!
I've nausea already have to keep snacking on things to stop it.

sc93 · 12/08/2020 14:41

@BFP2020 bless you, i tested on a non digital one just as a precaution but didn't have the instructions so wasn't sure. I posted on here and everyone was saying positive so I went to get the CB Digi that evening to do the following morning and I got 1-2 weeks
I couldn't even begin to explain how Ecstatic I felt I was thinking about a private scan for before the 12 week one, as I don't think we can get them on the NHS here, do you need to see the "2-3" on CB before you can get to see your doctor?
I've been eating loads but maybe that's just a mind thing at the moment, I've not had nausea at the moment

BFP2020 · 12/08/2020 14:52

@sc93 No i don't have to see it I just don't wanna go to doc too early in case something goes wrong I feel if I see that I am progressing well and will be happy to be referred to maternity hospital then. On my first I was only 26 and I literally took one test and went to doc straight away then just paid privately for an 8 week scan and it really put my mind at rest. It took us 2 years to get pregnant the first time. I'm 31 now and I've learned so much over the last 20 cycles that I had no idea about the first time round. How long are you trying? x

sc93 · 12/08/2020 14:55

Ah I see, I've got my first antenatal appointment in a few weeks
I've been trying for just over a year but it's taken me a while to accept that being a mum is what I've wanted for as long as I can remember
Haven't had very good experiences in the past with bad partners so I had no hope of this dream coming true

OP posts:
BFP2020 · 12/08/2020 15:35

@sc93 How does it work over there do you go straight to midwive?
Sorry to hear you had bad previous partners hope you are happy now with your current partner is he delighted? xx

sc93 · 12/08/2020 16:18

I thought we had to see the gp first but I've made an appointment straight with my midwife
I'm currently looking for the private scan 🥰
Ah yes he's super excited he's like a little child 😂
How about yours? X

BFP2020 · 13/08/2020 08:57

@sc93 My OH is delighted but dying to tell our DD she's nearly 5 and has been begging for a brother or sister since she could talk so her reaction is going to be priceless. I'm after warning him we can't tell her until the 12 week scan. Are you going to wait until 8 weeks to get an early scan? I did my FRER this morning and its darker so happy now until Tue and fingers crossed I get my 2-3 weeks :)

sc93 · 13/08/2020 10:04

@BFP2020
Yes I'm waiting until 12 weeks to announce it to family and friends 😁 i think it's better that way personally
I have also booked an early scan for a couple of weeks time (it'll be before 8 weeks) I can't wait 👏🏼
How about you?

OP posts:
BFP2020 · 13/08/2020 10:14

@sc93 We have told both parents and my sister couldn't keep it in haha

Because we were all set up for IUI for when I got AF instead of IUI I opted for 2 early scans one at 6 weeks which is the 25th aug.I will book another then for 8 weeks if all ok. Then after that I will go to the Maternity hospital at 12 weeks for my main scan.

How manys weeks are you now?

sc93 · 13/08/2020 10:19

@BFP2020 lol! I've only told my closest friend, that'll do for now
I'm 5 +4, I will do 2 private scans before the 12 week one, how many weeks are you?

OP posts:
BFP2020 · 13/08/2020 10:23

The blank one is this morning which is 14DPO

Due April/May 2021
BFP2020 · 13/08/2020 10:23

@sc93I'm only 4+2 weeks but based on my lines being so strong I think I may be further along.

sc93 · 13/08/2020 11:23

@BFP2020 they determine it by the first day of your last period until you can get your scan to give a more accurate number
My original test had one dark line and one lighter line but was still a positive according to women on mums net you might be able to find my previous post somewhere 🤷🏻‍♀️
But the lines are still there, I bet you're super excited

OP posts:
BFP2020 · 13/08/2020 11:29

@sc93 what was the post called?

Did you do another one? I feel like a freak but I love seeing those lines get darker. Tried eating cereal there and it was literally making me feel like I was going to puke nausea coming on strong ( i'm not complaining tho I'll take all of it) xx

sc93 · 13/08/2020 14:45

@BFP2020 the post is under the pregnancy thread, named is this a positive or negative test?
I know what you mean 😂
I did take another test the next morning, I used CB Digi just for proper confirmation as I didn't have instructions for the first one I did
How long have you been trying?

OP posts:
BFP2020 · 13/08/2020 14:54

@sc93 Are you going to take another one this week?

This was my 20th cycle so I was cracking up and the scheduled DTD wasn't great. My OH was getting fed up of it!!

Are you working at the moment?

sc93 · 13/08/2020 14:56

@BFP2020
Would you like to give me your email address? I can then give you my number and we can talk some more?
Yeah I am working full time and studying full time, how about you?

OP posts:
BFP2020 · 17/08/2020 09:58

Hi Everyone,

Congratulations to you all!
I hope you don't mind me joining this thread?!

I'm roughly 7w with our 1st cycle of IVF & ICSI - it all seems very surreal as my expectation was that it would take a couple of attempts at least.

We haven't told friends and family yet, we have an early scan on Tuesday - so hoping to tell family then.

I'm 33 and live in Northamptonshire.
