I'm trying to eat healthier during my pregnancy but finding complete lack of energy and exhaustion is meaning I can't even think about preparing fresh food and end up just grabbing the quickest possible snack which usually ends up being a pack of crisps or chocolate bar.

What were everyone's favourite snacks during pregnancy that you could just grab from the fridge without any preparation??

I'm a big fan of cereal bars, yoghurt, grapes, apples (cut up with peanut butter if I can be bothered), peanut butter straight off a spoon haha

Apples ❤️ Can’t get enough of them 😂 Has to be Pink Lady apples and have to be straight from the fridge. Lol. Other firm favourites are nectarines, tangerines, Carrot sticks with humous or guacamole, yoghurts.
I’m not sure how far along you are but during my first trimester I was feeling pretty rotten and the only snacks I could face were salted crackers (like Ritz crackers) and I practically lived on ice poles because they stopped me feeling sick 👍🏻

I’m really bad for buying fresh fruit then not feeling like it when it’s there so we bought lots of tinned fruit to snack on when the notion takes me. Like a couple of other posters I found cereal bars good. Slices of Soreen loaf as well if you’re into that. Oh and occasionally we’d get dairylea dunkers too

I've eaten A LOT of Babybels. I find them surprisingly good for a quick pick me up. Yoghurts too.

And a big YES to Pink Lady apples from the fridge!

I try and prep things for the week so when I'm hungry there's something there that doesn't need energy.

I normally make a batch of medium boiled eggs, sliced carrots/peppers/cucumbers, cooked chicken, pre washed salad leaves etc

I've been buying 'nice' yoghurts from M&S to have with a banana or some grapes.

I also like their flapjacks.

I can heartily recommend the apple crumble yoghurt with apple and oats in.

My go to is always apples or grapes, but the grapes must be green and have been in the freezer first... a craving I think Grin

Thank you so much for the suggestions everyone!!!

I had totally forgotten about frozen grapes...I wish I had some right now so they are def going on the shopping list!!

Tinned pineapple was my go to!

KitKatKit · 12/08/2020 20:50

Very similar to other posters actually:
Apples - Granny Smith for me
Blocks of cheddar cheese
Salted wholegrain crackers
Yoghurt pots
Smoothies! All the smoothies in the world.
Raspberries and Strawberries in plain yoghurt with a tsp or two of seed mix (pumpkin seeds, linseeds etc).
Toast with a thin layer of butter and extra thin layer of mature cheddar. The saltiness hits the spot.

Olives
Crackers/ryvita
Salted skinny popcorn
Yogurts
Cheese
Slices of ham
Strawberries/blueberries with greek yogurt & a tsp of honey (but requires a small amount of prep)
Mixed nuts & dried fruit

I loved full fat natural yogurt sprinkled with red berry granola and chia seeds. Sometimes some fresh raspberries or strawberry if I had them

Katnissx · 12/08/2020 21:48

I am loving watermelon cold out the fridge at the moment, small amount of prep work to cut it up first but then you have loads of pre cut slices in the fridge, lasts me a good few days 👌

TruffleMama · 12/08/2020 22:09

Bananas
Sultanas
Nuts
Jacobs cheese crackers
Gherkins
Tinned pineapple
Skinny popcorn
Oranges
Apples
Cereal bars
Yoghurts
