Midwife Appointment Schedule - 3rd Trimester

Wondering how everyone’s appointment schedules are working in the third trimester? I know things are a bit all over the place at the moment and they’re keeping appointments to a minimum in the first and second trimester but I was assured that they are following routine appointment schedule once in third trimester 🤔 FTM so maybe I’m expecting more contact than is actually given? Seen by first midwife all pregnancy at 22 weeks, had 28 week appt and next contact is at 34 weeks? Does that seem right?
Also Rh- and wasn’t given Anti D injection at 28 weeks? My understanding was an injection at 28 weeks then a top up at 34 weeks?

I went from 28 to 34, but they have been every 2 weeks thereafter.
Request anti D. I had to. They kept telling me an appointment would be made but it wasn't so I made an appointment myself.

Thanks @MizMoonshine 😊 that’s great! I’ll give them a phone today about the anti d 😊

Thanks @peachypetite - that’s what I had been using and it mentions a 31 week appointment for first pregnancies. Just was looking for covid related info really as to whether it was common for those not to be happening at the moment 😊

They should still be happening particularly third trimester which is when they seem to take more of an interest! My second trimester have been phone but still taken place. Also remember that care has varied massively around the country so while asking on here can be useful, you’d be better off asking your own midwives for specific info to you.

I’m a ftm and I had a 31 week appointment but I think it varies from trust to trust

I'm a FTM at about 26 weeks - so I've just had my 25 weeks appt with the community midwife, and we booked in the rest of my appts - at 28, 31, 34, 36, 38 and 40 weeks. My 28 weeks appt was going to be my first face to face appt (all others have been over the phone), but at the last minute my 25 week appt was switched to face to face. I do feel much better for having met them! I'm down on North London - there does seem to be a lot of variation between trusts.

I'm FTM and I had a 28w, 31w, 34w, 36w, 38w and have my 40w on Friday. Also Rh- and had my anti-d at 28w. No top up is needed on the anti-d though, it's just the one injection at 28w then they'll test the baby's blood type at birth and give me another injection if she is +ve.

We’re doing 28, 32, 36, 38, 40 and 41 (if needed) for low risk women. I’ve been bringing women back as needed (weekly or fortnightly for example) if there are concerns about blood pressure, measurements, or mental health. We’re just skipping 34, and doing 31 a week later than previously. 38 was a phonecall until a couple of weeks ago so I suspect if we go back into lockdown that will be the first to go. You can see the RCOG recommendations for appointments during Covid on their website.

You definitely to chase that anti D though! Many trusts just do one injection at 28 weeks (higher dose). We do a fortnightly clinic and you have to be 28 weeks to have it so some might be closer to 30 weeks when we give it but 28-29 weeks is the correct time frame.

It's my first pregnant, I had one at 26 weeks, one at 28 weeks and I've got one booked for 31 weeks then I think it's 34 weeks, 36 weeks, 38 weeks and 40 weeks after that.
