Snowsuit or Star Wrap?

Hi all,

I'm due in December and just looking at a list of baby clothes I should have when they're born.

It is vital to have a snowsuit in the winter for going out? I've looked at the Tuppence and Crumble star wraps which seem a lot less fuss.

Obviously LO will have body suits, cardigan, hat, blanket etc, but unsure about a snowsuit.

Dc1 was born the week before Christmas. We never owned a Snowsuit (NE England) as I just think they are not practical - can't be used in the carseat, then if we go in shops etc they are too hot.

We used a thin fleece all in one, like microfleece, then added a hat, and layered some blankets for the pushchair.

For the carseat we used the microfleece over a sleepsuit (thinner than a cardigan), clipped her in (in the house) then tucked a thin cellular blanket over her when she was already strapped in.

I'd say a Snowsuit is only needed if you are planning on being outside mid-winter for the best part of the day.

Star wraps are awesome, I loved mine.

If they're in the pushchair you can wrap them up, if they're in a sling they'd be too hot in a snowsuit.

Snowsuit will be useful next year when they are toddling around rrrrrealllly slowly in the freezing cold and falling over a lot.

Luckily, a friend has donated us snowsuits for when the baby's one.

Also big star wrap fans here. Had them in every size as great for pushchair as they get bigger.

Snow suits are a bloody pain, especially for newborns and cant be used in a car seat.

Yep, definitely star wrap. We were given a snowsuit in age 6-9 months. Went to charity shop never having been used. Brilliant once they are walking, pointless before that.
