New job + morning sickness!

As the title says, I started a new job only last week and ever since the morning sickness has started with the vengeance! So bad that I couldn't attend work today, it has gone on all day - my new employer does not know I am pregnant as I am just over 6 weeks but unsure how I can cover it up?

I am on a 6 month probationary period too which i am of course worried about...

I'm not sure if I should just tell them? Then maybe they will understand my absence today.

Any advice welcome xx

Sickness absence during pregnancy isn't legally allowed to be acted on in the same way as normal sick leave - if it's pregnancy related sickness. So either you hope the MS gets easier and you don't have time off, or if it will affect your sickness record and probabtion, you'll have to tell them. Could you wait a couple of weeks and see how it goes? It might pass, it might get worse.

Is it a supportive organisation? Have you read their policies? It's also worth noting that they'll have to do a risk assessment once they know (legal obligation) and that should take into account Covid specifically too.

Congratulations on your pregnancy! MS is grim, try eating little and often. I just used to stick carbs on my sickness. Ritz crackers, and crisps mostly!
