Increased movements

I'm not sure if this is a silly question but for the last 24 hours I've felt increased movement to the point there isn't even a 10 minute break between the baby moving which isn't her usual pattern the movements are pretty intense I'm 29 + 5 and all day along with the increased movement I have felt pressure down below ( on and off ) and back and tummy aches nothing to extreme but noticeable has anyone had any experiences like this before? I feel silly to bother any professionals unless I really thought i needed to thank you!

I would get it checked out. Any change to normal pattern should be checked I always believed! Better to check and all be fine than not get checked and go wrong and even for own peace of mind not be sat worrying! Hopefully all ok and just having an active day x

Goingdownto · 09/08/2020 21:28

It's definitely changes in movement rather than just decreased movements. I'm sure it will all be fine but wouldn't it be better to know this for sure?

Always get it checked.

DressingGown87 · 09/08/2020 21:54

I’m exactly 29+5 too and for the last 2 days my movements have been increased. I don’t know if it’s because I’m away for the weekend, the heat, or just because I’m noticing them more. I don’t have the pressure though. Sorry no help whatsoever, just thought it’s strange we are the exact same due date!

Your never bothering any professional when it comes to babys... go get checked :) x

Sophiej99 · 09/08/2020 22:34

I agree I can't think straight with worrying I feel like I can feel her heart beating in my tummy to! I don't think it's urgent enough to call now but if things haven't changed in the morning I'll give my assessment unit a call, I've been to work tonight and continued feeling movements through out which has carried on until now there has been no break it's feels so surreal as I've not experienced this before x

20th October? Not to long left for us x

@Sophiej99 I'm 30 weeks and have had exactly like yesterday and the day before! It's like baby is having a fit inside me! I can also feel some constant thumping which feels like a heartbeat but would be too slow to be baby's heart beat and too fast to be hiccups

Midwife just told me to keep an eye on it but wasn't worried

BeHappyAndSmile · 10/08/2020 07:24

@Sophiej99 just to let you know for future, I went in due to movement once and they said no matter how not urgent it feels never wait until the next day. Even gave me an info sheet from the kick count charity (I think). If it happens again dont worry about bothering them because it's not urgent. Just give them a bell and they'll tell you if it can wait till morning or not 😊. From my experience they're always very happy to reassure a worried mum.

shazzz1xx · 10/08/2020 07:44

Just go get checked hun for baby’s sake if anything x

Madanaa · 10/08/2020 08:28

Please please please never wait. A friend of mine went in for increased movements and she had to have an EMC x

Sophiej99 · 10/08/2020 23:18

Thank you for all the replies just a little update! been a very long day on the assessment unit as the Midwife's were unable to get little ones heart beat as she was moving around to much which I suppose is a good thing! They sent me for a scan however she has slowed down growing Hmm so they are a little bit concerned meaning I have to have scans every week to keep an eye on her

Her heart rate was fine too which is really reassuring (when they eventually got to hear it)
She's still moving very intensely and they have told me If her movements begin to slow down to give them a call back x

So glad you went and got checked! It’s good they are keeping closer eye on you now! Good luck with everything hope all goes well with rest of pregnancy!

Hi all - I'm 22 weeks and have been able to feel baby moving since about 16/17 weeks. Since last night there has been a lot of movement, and quite pronounced as well. I had a terrible sleep as well and could feel baby during the night. I can see my belly move for the first time as well. I feel like I have really grown in the last 48 hours though so could it may just be that I can feel it more as it's gotten bigger?

Keepingcomfy · 17/08/2020 08:41

Just realised I've said 'as well' about 40 times 🤦🏼‍♀️ Blaming lack of sleep

Goingdownto · 17/08/2020 19:36

Hi @Keepingcomfy there's really only one answer that is safe for us to make - give your midwife a call, always better to be safe than sorry and they are the experts Flowers
