Hi ladies.
I think I'm being a bit hypo here but last night and now my hands hurt and tops of my hands and fingers get really itchy. Not palms, feet or belly.
I'm hot and bothered and swollen so maybe that's it, but NHS website may suggest ICP.
I think if you google any symptom in pregnancy something will pop and then you think something is wrong! 😭
Anyone had ICP and of so how did yours start?

Just to add my MW seems to think I have carpal tunnel syndrome when I saw her the beginning of this week. My itching also goes up my arms and my slim feels really tight! 😬

I wouldn't rule out carpel tunnel syndrome. That makes my wrists feel right, painful and some days I can barely lift my toothbrush: Could your skin be dry and irritated from the heat?

SinkGirl · 08/08/2020 21:38

Definitely get checked out - not worth taking any risks. Could be cholestasis, could be something else but worth knowing for sure.

Possibly @imissthesouth. I've googled some NHS exercises for carpal tunnel so I'm hoping they start to help.
My skin just feels super tight but with the extra fluid I'm not surprised!
If I keep itching I'll speak to my MW on Monday but I'm hoping it's just the carpal tunnel 🤞

Best thing for carpal tunnel is sleeping in a specific kind of wrist splint (sold for carpal tunnel), works brilliantly but probably not fun if you’re so itchy

mrsed1987 · 08/08/2020 21:42

How far along are you? I had really painful hands during the third trimester

lockdownpregnancy · 08/08/2020 21:49

I'm 33 weeks tomorrow and I have bought myself some wrist splints but it's too hot to wear them in bed at the moment! Itching has stopped now but skin still feels tight!
I think carpal tunnel but if I start itching again I'll call the MAU as they have been amazing with me to date when I've been in

Always ask... I know that there are some dismissive midwives but the vast majority are super patient.
