31 weeks too exhausted to function

Hi, I'm 31+4. Still working full time but other than that recently I've felt exhausted to the point I feel like it's impeding my functioning (e.g. I just had to stop part way through cleaning the bathroom to go and sit down, I'm slower at work and space out, generally feel too tired to keep on top of cleaning/meal prep/buying baby things...). I know fatigue in pregnancy is normal and I went through a phase of napping during the day in first trimester, but I always thought it was a 1st trimester symptom. Is it a bad sign that it's back? Really worried if I'm feeling like this that it's a sign of problems, (let alone how I'll feel when I have a baby and getting no sleep if I feel like this already with a full night...)

When was your iron level last checked? Could need a supplement. Certainly made me exhausted low iron.

I would definitely mention it to your midwife, because it could be a sign of a deficiency, but third trimester can be exhausting. I found it better when baby dropped and I got a little bit of lung space back. Personally I preferred the broken sleep of a newborn to the exhaustion and uncomfortable pregnancy sleep.

Just to echo what’s been said - obviously mention it to your midwife if you’re concerned, but I remember being exhausted by the end of my pregnancy with ds2 and wondering how I’d cope with both a baby and a toddler. Once I’d actually had the baby I felt much better! Still knackered and sleep deprived, but not that total body exhaustion that comes with growing a whole new person! All the best x

Not much to add but wanted to send solidarity. What you said about having to stop halfway through cleaning the bathroom, feeling too tired to cook/work/ prep baby stuff, really resonated with me!

I'm 30 weeks on Monday and have been feeling wiped throughout my pregnancy. Iron levels haven't come back low, so no idea why I'm suffering. I'm just trying to take it a day at a time.
We are literally growing another person and so it's no wonder our bodies are feeling it. Good luck x

Hi OP! I'm 33 weeks tomorrow and for the most part had a great pregnancy so far, but this week I've just had enough of life!
Moving around, concentrating, sleeping etc, it's just hard work!
I think the heat hasn't helped this week but when you get past a certain point i think it just becomes tough growing a person and trying to function as you would pre pregnancy!
Listen to your body and rest when needed! Nothing wrong with that OP. As the other ladies have said, if you're worried speak to your midwife to put your mind at rest

36 weeks and massively slowed down the last couple of weeks. It's tough being this massive! Go easy on yourself. I frequently have to rest, and no way can I do all the same activities as I was doing before around the house. Get your OH if you have one to pick up some of the slack! My DP has had to do much more than usual.
