Nappies, formula, baby toiletries? Cant remember how long a pack of nappies or tin of say cow and gate last for! Trying to sort my budget out for maternity. Many thanks x

Been a few years but a tin of formula used to last around 5/6 days. £10. Pack of Pampers nappies were around 6-8 a day about £3 a pack and no toiletries until DS was around 2 months old so can’t comment on that but if you include wipes, again we used pampers about £10 a box

We normally go through a pack of nappies and a tin of milk powder every week. Maybe more nappies when he was little. We use reusable wipes or buy big packets to divide up into a container. We got given so many toiletries, I'm still making my way through them!

depends which brands you are going to be using. with my dd I used alfi mamia formula which is £6.99 a tub and at most was using 2 tubs per week, and a large pack of nappies are under £5 from aldi and would last at least 2 weeks if not 3. so probably average about £10-15 a week

larrythelizard · 08/08/2020 12:09

We used to get through just under a tin of formula a week.

Definitely more nappies when he was tiny, he hated having a wet/dirty happy, at a guess 8 a day?

Bitchinkitchen · 08/08/2020 12:11

Can't say about formula cos i BF but instead of disposable nappies i spent about £200 upfront on reusables and i reckon now DD is 9m I've absolutely made that back, and won't need to buy any more for the next baby either. Something to consider!

popcorndiva · 08/08/2020 12:12

Newborn I was spending around £20 a week on nappies, wipes and formula, so basically the child benefit covered this

Footlooseandfancy · 08/08/2020 12:13

Formula -£12-16 a week
That was a tin every 5-6 days plus ready made bottles for going out.

Nappies
Early days - probably a pack every couple of days. We used Aldi so pretty cheap. Maybe £3-4 a week.
I used to buy the big boxes of wipes and I guess about a packet a week.

Toiletries
Barely used any sudocrem or nappy cream and sparingly used bath stuff so maybe a bottle of bath stuff every 3 months or so. Despite DD having a lot of hair think we're still only on our second bottle of shampoo (she's 2).

Thanks guys I was thinking around £20 might be average. Then I'll spend £30 a week on food shopping and whatnot :) going to try and stock up on some stuff this month (baby due sept) x
