Morning ladies. I need some advice please. My doctor referred me for a pelvis scan yesterday. The scan lady gave me a over the stomach scan first asked when my last period was of which I said last week. Then she did a vaginal scan off when she put the probe in straight away asked me again when my last period was again of which I replied last week as I was on the pill. She replied but that’s not a actual period. So after she was done I asked if everything was ok and she just said I have to wait to hear from my doctor within 5 days. So I’m wondering cos she she’s me about my period if she saw a baby on the screen and why she couldn’t tell me how it went. I’m very confused now so any advice please I would appreciate it. Thank you.

I'm sure that if she saw a baby on the scan she would have told you as it would be important to start taking folic acid and avoid things that could be potentially dangerous to the pregnancy.

Do you think there is a chance that you are pregnant?

Hope you get the outcome you want @Confused1979 and that all is well :)

@Csari could be. But was just wondering that she couldn’t say cos it was a referral by my doctor. I don’t know.

In a pelvic ultrasound they ask when your period was because they’re assessing the lining of your womb and it’s thickness depends on where you are in your cycle. I think it’s quite bad that she wouldn’t talk you through what she saw on the scan or explain why she was asking those questions...

@Muriel84 that’s why my head is over the place. She asked me once with the belly scan when my last period was I told her then she asked me with the vaginal and as soon as she looked at the screen asked me again. So I’m thinking did she see something and when I told her last week as I was on the pill she said right away “you know that’s not a real period right” but then when I asked if everything is ok she said my doctor will contact me within 5 days so thinking am I pregnant or is something wrong

It depends on the reason you requested a pelvic scan?

I agree If a pregnancy was seen someone would most likely have spoken to you before you left - were you allowed to see the screen during the scan?

I'd wait to hear from your Dr. I had to say when my last period was. However the sonographer told me i had PCOS and had a cycle and fluid in my womb. He told me my periods shouldn't be regular and I'd struggle having kids! Yet the Dr said the scan was normal, the sonographer is no longer practicing, seems I'm not the only one he told lies too.
From that experience I'd happily wait for the DR to speak to me. I went a week thinking I couldn't have kids easily to then find out all is fine. However if you were pregnant im sure they'd have to tell you to prevent you doing anything dangerous to yourself and the baby. Hope all goes well x
