Not announced pregnancy yet - need birthday present ideas

Hoping you can provide me with some inspiration. I turn 30 at the beginning of September, and all being well, i’ll be 9 weeks pregnant. I won’t have announced my pregnancy yet.

My family and friends having been asking what to buy me for my birthday. I would probably usually get fancy gins/ Prosecco etc, but I want to steer them away so they don’t feel it’s a wasted present when they find out I’m pregnant a few weeks later.

I’ve asked one person for a nice rucksack (planning on using it as a changing bag), but any other ideas would be greatly appreciated.

A really nice pair of PJs or dressing gown as you'll love them when baby is born

A voucher for a salon to treat yourself

Say you’ve got your eye on something in particular in John Lewis or another department store (pretend it’s a home appliance or furniture or something) and ask everyone for vouchers for there. People can give £10, £20, £50 in vouchers or whatever and then you can add them all together and use for a cot or pram or other baby stuff! Or non-baby stuff Grin

Definitely vouchers. 9 weeks is super early to be asking people to buy you baby stuff.

Of course any alcohol you get won't be wasted exactly, you can always save it for when baby is born!

Still, I think vouchers and PJs are a good shout :)

@JemimaTiggywinkle my bday is end of August and I'll be 11 wks- holding off telling people until I have my scan which is 3 days later. I'm asking for John Lewis vouchers. I've said I want to buy a new tablet!

MsSquiz · 07/08/2020 12:15

For my pregnant birthday I got:
Comfy pyjamas
A light dressing gown (100 stars)
Jewellery
Fancy loungewear (white company)

But people knew I was pregnant.

I would suggest asking for vouchers for John Lewis or asking family for money. You could say it's to go towards a big purchase.
Any alcohol gifts will definitely be drank once the baby has arrived!

Thank you all for taking the time to reply - some really good suggestions there :)
