Weird feeling in throat

For the last three days, I've had a nasty feeling in my throat. It's not painful, just uncomfortable. The kind of feeling you sometimes get when you haven't swallowed food properly, only it doesn't go away when I drink water or burp or anything. I'm 24 weeks pregnant.

Am sure it's absolutely nothing, but in my pregnancy paranoia, wanted to check.

Thank you!

I have this sometimes too. Talked to my doctor and she had no idea but looking online I found this

I think it's just one of those things more likely to happen in pregnancy as your hormones cause all sorts of changes in your body.

I had this for about three days, it was worse when drinking or eating. Then it just stopped

Yes I've had this most of the time through pregnancy (I don't have brilliantly healthy tonsils at the best of times!). Never developed into anything but hasn't really gone away either. GP said extra blood flow in body has a lot to answer for!

Convinced myself a million times that it is the beginning of coronavirus but nope...

Somethingsnappy · 06/08/2020 20:10

Does it feel like phlegm, as though you keep needing to swallow it but it won't go away? I seem to get it as an immune response, if my body is fighting off a mild bug, or sometimes with a bit of hay fever. And weirdly, if I've eaten too much cheese. My husband gets the same thing with cheese!

Thank you all so much.
It feels exactly like Somethingsnappy describes: as though I keep needing to swallow it but it won't go away"

And yes, worried it might be the start of coronavirus, which would not be at all ideal in pregnancy...

Could be reflux?

strawberrycheesecake1989 · 06/08/2020 21:45

tonsil stones? shine a torch on your throat in the mirror

chubbyhotchoc · 06/08/2020 22:36

Is it sort of a cold blocked off feeling? I've had this right through. I'm 24 weeks

Yaty · 06/08/2020 22:37

Yeah I get this, just assumed it was acid reflux.

FullofSurprises · 06/08/2020 22:38

@Somethingsnappy that sounds like reflux. Specifically silent reflux. It creates mucus above the vocal chords and keeps creating it as a defence against acid coming up into the throat. Do you get quite phlegmy after eating?

ChickenDipper28 · 06/08/2020 22:38

Acid reflux? I've been getting it really bad.
