I haven't decided yet what to put him to sleep in. I know there's swaddles but me and my husband aren't keen on this and would like to try something else. There's sleeping bags but apparently that's for when they are a bit older as they can slip in them. Can we just use blankets? I've heard that they can come loose from them. Any other suggestions?

Grosnug to start then sleeping bags

Mine started in blankets tucked in snugly then gro bags from about 4-6 weeks. You can get gro bags for newborns which are perfectly safe but as a newborn my DC have liked being tucked in snugly. Gro bags are by far the easiest and if you get the right size for their weight they can’t slip down

I've always used blankets, tucked in firmly, with both of mine. Never had a problem.

For DS I started with blankets then moved on to sleeping bags. Due DD next month and I have bought some blankets but planning on using grosnugs which can be used from birth, just have to make sure you get the right size for their weight.

I used sleeping bags from day 1. I find it so reassuring and it takes the worry out of what to dress them in as they tell you exactly what they should wear depending on the temperature.

Grobags ( now owned by tommee tippee) do newborn sizes !

We used Love to Dream arms up swaddles for the first 5 months, they were wonderful! Then moved on to sleeping bags.

I loved sleeping bags but blankets are fine too, just tuck it in well and keep under babies armpits.
