Cellular blankets

I know this sounds like a really stupid question but I’m a ftm and don’t want to get it wrong! I know you’re meant to use cellular blankets in the crib, and I understand this is because they have holes in so baby can breathe if it goes over their face? I’ve been given lots of handmade knitted/crocheted blankets and some have holes in the pattern - are these ok to use or do I need to buy a special cellular blanket? I have bought some newborn gro-bags but want to have something in case baby is too small for them at first.

Knitted or crocheted blankets will be fine as long as the total of blankets is not too heavy or hot. Congratulations on your pregnancy and all the best 😊

Great, thank you! One less thing to buy!

If they have holes in that's fine!
