Tutti Bambini side cot- mattress protector

HI, I've bought the tutti bambini side cot and I was wondering if anyone who has this used their mattress protector?
In the shop I bought it in, they told me shouldn't use a mattress protector but tutti bambini sell one for this side cot so just want to see if anyone has used it? Thanks :)

I just bought a protector off Amazon as couldn't seem to find the official Tutti one in stock anywhere. Its called 'naturalmat' and was £15.

Did you buy the fitted sheets? I need to get them, but again seem to be sold out everywhere in the grey cloud design.

I just thought it was weird that the girl in the shop told me that you shouldn't use a mattress protector with it, something to do with the mattress not being breathable with it on...
