Early pregnancy madness

I am 5 weeks pregnant after trying for 4+ years with unexplained infertility.
I've been trying to keep my cool and be sensible about all my symptoms and so far it's worked until last night, I went to the loo and felt a pulling/twinge pain in my lower right abdomen roughly where my ovary is. My mind immediately jumped to ectopic pregnancy but I've had no other symptoms (bleeding, shoulder pain etc) but I have this twinge that comes and goes.
I have slight cramping (like period pains) which I've had since I found out and really sore boobs. Can someone please settle my anxious mind and tell me they've had something similar? The twinge is still there and comes and goes.
Thanks in advance!

Congratulations! Early pregnancy worries are something else aren't they, you're not alone 😊 I had right sided discomfort that I was very aware of at around 5 weeks too, more of a niggle/twinge than proper pain. I was also convinced it was ectopic and booked a private scan at 6+6 when it showed a right corpus luteum cyst - apparently very common and most likely the cause! It stopped around 8 weeks. The cramps and sore boobs are all very normal too. There are lists miles long of symptoms you may and may not get and it's so easy to fixate on certain ones you do or don't have but unless you're in a lot of pain or bleeding, try not to worry (though of course I know that's easier said than done). Good luck with your pregnancy x

Thank you so much for taking the time to reply. It's instantly made me feel better! First midwife appointment is on Friday so I will mention it then too! We do drive ourselves mad! Thank you :)

Hi @Tankgrl
Congratulations!! Aches and pains are normal throughout pregnancy but that doesn't stop it being frightening!! I'm expecting DC4 and I'm more nervous this time than I was with any of my previous pregnancies.
Best of luck with your pregnancy x

Oh my gosh, congratulations! I’m 6 weeks (tried for 2 and a half years) and feeing super nervous about everything. Every twinge and cramp makes me nervous. I’ve had mild period type cramps, they’re less than they were but still there occasionally. I had a scan at the EGU yesterday (also having some stomach pain on urination that was there before pregnancy but is worse now so GP referred me) and I saw the heartbeat, which has temporarily eased my nerves but I know it won’t last. I hope your first appointment goes well!

Congratulations!! Those cramps are the worse, they aren't painful at all but every time I'm like "oh what's going on?"
Such a beautiful thing to see a heartbeat. Best of luck with everything! I hope everything is smooth sailing for you x
