3rd trimester but my belly feels empty

Last night I all of a sudden felt like my belly was empty. It was as if the baby had disappeared, I knew she was still there when she decided to kick me as hard as she could. When I got up this morning it felt the same and I have been feeling her move.
Has anyone else experienced this? It's so strange! And does anyone knows what it means??

Change to baby's position?

Maybe she’s moved down?

Agree that it's maybe a change in position, and maybe it's started to drop too?

Doesn’t the baby “drop” later in pregnancy? I remember reading about it when I felt the same! I think they just move a bit further down and change position ready for the big day!

I was thinking maybe she had dropped but I expected more pressure on my pelvis so its confused me

I never felt any sort of pressure until I was basically ready to push, and I'd got to 3/5 engaged at the last midwife appointment I had before I went into labour

Gone back to back? I go all squiddy when mine turns back to back
