I'm 6 months pregnant with my second child and I go between having constipation and diarrhea all the time. Someone suggested to me to take a fybogel everyday to keep me regular but I was worried that would make the diarrhea days worse or is that not the case?
Any other suggestions?

Diarrhoea is also a symptom of constipation (still a blockage)

Are you taking iron tablets? This can sometimes cause you to be constipated.

It could be your pelvic floor. Lots of people don’t know but it also controls and supports your bowels, not just your bladder. Could the baby’s position be having an effect do you think? After DD was born I had terrible faecal incontinence which varied between constipation or diarrhea. Eventually it got better as my pelvic floor got stronger. As this is your second baby I wonder if this might affect you as there’s more strain on your pelvic floor again?

I don't think it's my pelvic floor as I have full control over the movements. There's no urgency.
I was constipated with ds too, I think it's just the pregnancy hormones that do it.
Hadn't considered that the constipation could actually be causing diarrhea, maybe i should try the fybogel once a day for now and see if it helps.
There's been a few nights in the past couple of weeks where the diarrhea and bowel cramps have kept me up half the night so I'm feeling pretty exhausted.
I'm not taking prescribed iron but there's iron in my pregnancy vitamin. I really do need to take it though as I'm pre-anaemic and don't want to end up on prescription iron.
