Hi I know all trusts are different but does anyone had any idea what kind of appointments we should have for low risk pregnancy after 30 weeks?

I’m 30 weeks and it seems like the last hospital appointment I’ll have was 28 weeks and the rest are with the community midwife that I need to book in myself. From the NHS website it seems these will just be for blood pressure etc

It just seems weird that the next time I go the actual hospital is me just turning up out of the blue to give birth Grin!!

At my trust it’s currently 32, 36, 38, 40, 41 and 42 weeks all with a community midwife. I’m not sure what you mean when you refer to hospital appointments? The only time I went to the hospital was for my 12, 20 and 32 week scan x

@Birdy1991 thanks - I’ve been for my 12 and 20 week scan, was your 32 week one extra?

At 28 weeks I had to go for my anti-d injection for blood type and that was at the hospital and they did bloods, urine, measurements.

I just want to make sure I don’t miss anything as for the hospital they’ve always written to me and for the community midwife I have to book myself. But sounds like the rest are with the community midwife.

Maybe I’m getting anxious about just arriving at the hospital on the day of labour!! Haha

32 week was extra, sorry; to check my placenta location!
Yep sounds normal to me! It is a bit weird not to see the hospital until birth though I admit. I’ve never been to the main building of my hospital so hopefully I’ll find out where I’m going when I go into labour in a few days 😂 good luck with the rest of your pregnancy 😃

I've had 28 and 32 week appointments with the midwife, next is 36 with her and also a growth scan at 36 weeks and position check which I'm pretty sure is a standard one, no issues I know of! Then can't remember if she said 38 or 39 weeks after that, then 40

xxxemzyxxx · 02/08/2020 17:11

Same here, the only times I've been to the hospital is for the 12 and 20 week scan. All my other appointments have been with the community midwife and will continue to be that way until I give birth Smile

Whatinthename20 · 02/08/2020 17:22

Does everyone get a 36 week growth scan these days as standard? Keen to know if my hospital do

Rosieeeee · 02/08/2020 17:23

I'm under Oxford University Hospitals trust and just googled the 36 week scan and it seems they offer it as standard, so not sure about everywhere else

Galaxycat · 02/08/2020 20:29

@Birdy1991 haha maybe I should have asked for a guided tour last time I went.. sure there will be someone to point me in the right direction on the day, it will be pretty obvious where I need to be!! Aw thanks, good luck to you you too!! Exciting!!!

I had face to face midwife appointments at 28 and 34 then had a growth scan at 36 weeks (also in Oxfordshire) and seeing my midwife again next week at 38 weeks. I think a few things have changed due to the current situation.

FilthyforFirth · 02/08/2020 21:40

Standard 36 week scan in my trust. But apart from consultant appointments all my midwife appts after 28 weeks are with the community. So that strikes me as normal.

Alychloe · 02/08/2020 23:01

I’m in Berkshire and 29 weeks, low risk. After my 28 week appointment I now have a 31 week appt with the GP, then 34 week with midwife, 36 with GP, 38 with midwife, 40 with midwife.

Midwife has told me that any with the GP I have to ring my surgery and book myself.

DJBebe · 02/08/2020 23:24

I'm in Devon, same as @Alychloe, 12 and 20 weeks scan and apart from that midwife appointments at 28, 31 weeks so far, next app 34 weeks.

Superscientist · 03/08/2020 08:59

I'm high risk but have only been to the hospital for my two scans and to meet the consultant at 14 weeks. All my other appointments have been at my gp surgery with my midwife.

In normal circumstances wards do visits so you can see the layout etc but these are not going ahead in most hospitals. My local hospitals have made virtual tours available one a video the second a series of photos.

I have been to triage once for reduced movements this was in a different place to the ultrasound and antenatal clinic. I was given directions on how to find the unit on the phone.

Chanel05 · 03/08/2020 09:15

In my area midwife appointments are weeks 32, 36, 38, 40 (if first baby), 41 and 42.

All appointments with midwife other than 12/20 week scan
