I was wondering if anyone could share any knowledge or experiences they may have with this matter. I am 17 weeks pregnant (only just found out) and I have had a few binge drinking nights up until this time. On average maybe once a week and between a bottle and a bottle and half of wine each time. Whilst I will no longer drink at all does anyone have similar experiences as to whether my baby is harmed. I feel terrible of course and do not know what to do now.

I haven’t got personal experience but all I can say is, it’s done now . The first few weeks the baby doesn’t live off you anyway as their placenta isn’t formed, I think they start living off you from 12 weeks. But if it’s any help my friend didn’t even know she was pregnant and drank all the way through until she went into labour at 40 weeks unexpectedly. Her baby is fine. My husband also delivers babies and has delivered babies from mums who have been on drugs all the way through . Babies are very resilient. Try and enjoy the pregnancy , and don’t feel guilty . Baby will be fine.
