Vision Prenatal Test Anyone? Please Help

Thank you for taking the time to read my post.

I am 40 years old and 10 weeks pregnant. I am considering using NIPT Vision test method in order to test for embryo’s chromosomal abnormalities. It is a similar test to Harmony, but I am only a bit concerned because Vision testing seems to be less “known” than Harmony for example.

Could you please share your experience/thoughts about Vision testing?

Thank you very much in advance!

Having just looked at their website I would not encourage you to use them - if for no other reason because the website describes NIPT as “diagnostic “. It is not diagnostic. All NIPT is screening, not diagnostic.
Is there a particular reason you were thinking of using this particular test? I use the SAFE test, processed at St George’s hospital in London

Sussexmidwife thank you for replying. I do understand what you mean about Screening vs. Diagnostic. To answer your question, a private clinic next to us is doing both Harmony and Vision+ screening.

However, Vision+ includes ( besides the trisomy screening) triploidy screening involving sex chromosomes. It costs extra to screen for other anomalies such as chromosome deletions, but they can check for these as well (23 or 46).

I hope this makes some sense. The private clinic in question has a good reputation.

Please be very cautious. The “expanded tests” are offering results for ultra rare conditions and the reliability of results are very much in doubt. Far from reducing the number of invasive tests, what I and many colleagues have seen is a significant number of women having such tests, then going on to have invasive testing due to a “screen positive” result which almost invariably turns out to be a false positive.

That makes sense. I think I will listen to your advice (and my gut feeling) and just go for a Harmony screening for 3 trisomies.

Thank you so much again! 💐💐💐
