Arrggghhh 😳 anyone else due this month? When are your due dates, do you know what your having,is this your first or second, are you prepared, how are you feeling, have you had any signs/twinges that things may be happening?

OP posts:

@LuckyC27 I spoke to my midwife about this a few days ago. They aren’t allowed to do Sweeps at all before 40 weeks exactly - my 40week appt is actually on 39+6 and so my midwife has said she can’t do it then - so technically I would have to wait until I’m seen at my next appointment - meaning I would be offered fewer sweeps than someone whose appt falls on a different day if that makes sense. She has offered to fit me in for extra sweeps in between appointments if I want them tho which is great, maybe ask your midwife if that’s what you want?

Havlerr · 02/08/2020 10:43

@LuckyC27 I have my 40 week appointment on my due date (if baby isn’t here by then) and have been told I will be offered a sweep then although it’s my choice to accept it or not. They usually don’t offer them early, it’s only to try to get things going before offering an induction.

LuckyC27 · 02/08/2020 10:48

Yeah I was thinking I would be offered one on my due date so 40 weeks but they have booked me in for 4 days later - midwife said its how they do it in our trust 🤷🏻‍♀️ I think knowing baby will need antibiotics and scans after birth

LuckyC27 · 02/08/2020 10:50

Pressed post before finishing! Was just going to say I'm desperate for him to be here due to the additional checks he will need after birth so the thought of going up to 12 days over seems like a lifetime away!

vinoelle · 02/08/2020 18:23

@LuckyC27 sorry you’ve had a tough time. You can request induction earlier than 40+12 if you wish - most trusts will accept if you state you aren’t willing to accept the risks etc with post dates. Obviously it depends on your personal choice and I totally understand it might not be everyone’s preference!

Rainbow714 · 03/08/2020 12:49

I have a sweep booked in for day before im due, felt rubbish past couple of days really sicky with no appetite and could sleep forever! Hope your all doing well, each day is a step closer to meeting our babies!

LuckyC27 · 05/08/2020 06:44

How's everyone getting on?

My waters randomly broke last night 😬 didn't have any contractions or signs so was sent home and an induction booked in for tonight just in case it doesn't happen naturally.

Now its actually happening it feels so weird! Not sure what to do with myself today.

MizMoonshine · 05/08/2020 06:51

Second round for me! Due on the 25th.
Baby is already weighing in (estimated) at 7lbs 8oz
as of 37 weeks exactly so pray for my vagina please.
Hospital restrictions still in place here. DP gets to be there for established labour then has to bugger off a little while after.
No signs of labour kicking off yet. Just want to have her in my arms, instead of my belly, already.

MizMoonshine · 05/08/2020 06:52

@LuckyC27
Ooh! Exciting. Good luck :D

BabyG08 · 05/08/2020 06:59

@LuckyC27 oh my god how exciting! All the best of luck!! I’m wishing on something happening so bad, this week has by far been the worst for me, no energy for anything and I’m definitely waddling now.

@MizMoonshine I’m predicted a big baby too so I know how you feel in regards to the vagina 🤣 best of luck with the rest of your pregnancy!

MizMoonshine · 05/08/2020 07:43

@BabyG08 good luck with your vagina 😭

Rainbow714 · 05/08/2020 07:56

@LuckyC27 how exciting! Good luck.

@MizMoonshine im also predicted a big baby, she was 7lb 1oz at my 36 week scan.

Hows everything doing? Im still getting odd cramps and back pain...hoping its not too much longer.

Luna321 · 05/08/2020 08:06

👋 Hi I'm due my 2nd on the 22nd Aug keeping the sex a surprise this time so super excited to meet him/her.
Bags packed so officially feel ready now so am looking out for any signs.
Had a horrible week last week with back ache and funny pains but nothing consistent. Feeling so much better this week and have more energy but still not sleeping very well at all 😴 I guess that's all part of preparing for life with a newborn 🤪

MizMoonshine · 05/08/2020 08:10

@Rainbow714 both looking at 9lbers then!
How long do you have to go?

Luna321 · 05/08/2020 08:15

My last ended in a c section due to undiagnosed breech. So I'm hoping I have a chance at a vbac this time round but I have still booked a c section a few days after my due date so I feel like I have a bit of control if that makes sense.
I've been drinking raspberry leaf tea for a week or so now, I actually quite like it 🙂
Until last week this baby was breech but had a growth scan which confirmed they had flipped so 🤞 they stay that way!

vinoelle · 05/08/2020 09:39

@LuckyC27 eeeeek how exciting! How’s it going? Keep us updated if you can. We can be you’re cheerleading team - you’ve got this!

Rainbow714 · 05/08/2020 09:43

@MizMoonshine its looking that way 😂 my last DD was 9lb 10oz so kind of expecting it. Im due on the 15th, counting down now!

MizMoonshine · 05/08/2020 09:49

@Rainbow714 my last was 7lb 4oz. It took me 7 years to be convinced to do it again 😭

You brave woman!

10 days left though! Exciting!

LuckyC27 · 05/08/2020 09:51

@mizmoonshine @BabyG08 @Rainbow714 eek sounds like everyone has big babies! Hopefully they won't keep you waiting too long.

Waters are still leaking and have been getting some tightnings - I started timing them on an app earlier and they were quite regular but just had a nap and not getting them so often now.

Just a tip so obviously wasn't expecting waters to go as had zero signs until it happened after phoning my midwife I had to go in and see her all my big pads and big knickers were packed away in my hospital bag so I just shoved a normal pad on a thong as it was the nearest 😬 I then had to explain to the midwife everything else is packed away 😂 she said it happens a lot but maybe handy to have some big knickers and maternity pads in easy reach!

Also had to have covid swab which was way worse than her doing the speculum to check my waters had actually gone 🥵 hoping things start naturally as hospital is still not allowing partners in until active labour so induction would mean more time on own.

floralf · 05/08/2020 09:54

Hi all, just found this thread I'm due this month too! Due in for a planned section 2 weeks today on 19th...countdown is on! How is everyone doing?

Rainbow714 · 05/08/2020 12:48

@MizMoonshine my DD is 7 too! Haha, im very excited now. Have the worst back ache today, every niggle im like is this the start! 😂 Fingers crossed things start on their own for you @LuckyC27. Our hospital is the same not allowing partners till established labour.

chelsea2704 · 05/08/2020 17:22

Due on 9th August! Was feeling so positive but now I am extremely nervous and anxious about labour and do not feel excited anymore .. any tips to calm me down 🙈

Melbs6 · 05/08/2020 21:56

@LuckyC27 how exciting!! How are you getting on? I hope things have started naturally for you so you avoid induction 🤞

BruceAndMarley · 06/08/2020 07:19
