Baby wrap/sling recommendation

I would like to get a baby wrap/sling but I am stumped what one to get. Can you get ones that aren't an endless piece of fabric? I got given one but there is just so much material and I look ridiculous with it on. Also easier to put on the better

Have a look for a local sling library. They are starting to open up now and you'll get advice about what would suit you best and can try them out before investing in your own one.

I had an ergo embrace for my newborn to 8ish months. It is a soft buckle carrier and designed for that age. Lovely and soft jersey material and easy to do up as it is buckle clips rather than trying to wrap and knot.

I love the Mei tai from daisy boo. Really easy to use and so reasonable. I got one recently for my now 16 month old and it’s fantastic but they’re fine for tiny babies too.

I had a close Caboo someone leant me which was also great.

Second the sling library (there are online ones). I never got on with the wrap style so we have a Connecta and a Manduca. Both are fab. I could still carry DD in the Manduca when she was 3!

Definitely try your local sling library!

As a sling consultant, I would say don't rule out a stretchy wrap as once you've got the hang of tying it it's very convenient. Much like the first time you fold your pram it seems complicated!

I'd also recommend some other lovely stretchy but more structured options like the close caboo, which is like a pre-tied stretchy wrap, the mamaruga zensling, which is a soft jersey buckle carrier with a waist you can narrow for newborns, and the ergo embrace mentioned above, which is also a jersey buckle carrier with a waist you roll for newborns. The latter 2 will last you until around a year so good value!
