Hi Everyone,
just looking for a bit of advice and support.
I'm 6 Weeks and 2 Days pregnant and today I had some really severe cramping which made me feel super dizzy and hot that I couldn't stop sweating. My OH rang EPU and they said to call 111 who put me in touch with a doctor. They reassured me that they didnt think it was ectopic pregnancy or miscarriage due to the lack of fever and bleeding and because they came and went within 10 minutes or so, but I am still so worried.

I have to call back if they happen again or if I begin to bleed.

Has anyone else experienced bad cramping in early pregnancy? I've spoken to a couple of women who said they experienced this and went onto have a normal pregnancy, its just so hard not to worry Sad

Hiya!
I had severe period like cramps in my early pregnancy. It lasted about 2 weeks and I just thought my period was coming! I also had the hot flushes and sweats 🥵 This made me feel sick/dizzy.
I was also worried, but I'm now 30 weeks and everything is well and healthy 😊 I wouldn't worry! Hope you feel better soon.

The pain was so bad it would wake me up between 6-9 weeks during my pregnancy with dd.

Sophiehannah95 · 30/07/2020 21:14

@ChickenDipper28 thankyou so much for replying, you’ve put me at ease a little more. I had another set of cramps earlier on but not as bad and I think maybe the fact I panicked the first time probably made them worse? I just sat and breathed through these and they went as quick as they came.

@physicskate it really knocked me for six the amount of pain I was in! I really thought there must have been something wrong x

Yes, i had awful cramping in early pregnancy and was constantly checking for blood everytime I went to the toilet.
The horrible cramping came back in the 3rd trimester I'm afraid!

Springawake · 30/07/2020 21:37

This is so strange ! I'm 6 weeks plus 2 aswell and I've had this cramping today also . I've googled it and as far as I can see it's called ligament paint basically our wombs stretching ready for the growing baby

physicskate · 30/07/2020 21:42

I was also hospitalised with suspected appendicitis at 20 weeks with dd. All just round ligament pain.

All pain isn't good, but all pain isn't a bad sign, if you see what I mean.

Springawake · 30/07/2020 21:46

I'm no doctor. So obviously do what you feel is necessary . But this is my third pregnancy and I remember having this pain early on with my other two children and they where perfectly healthy .

I personally am only going to worry if I bleed or say it's constant for a few days

Sophiehannah95 · 31/07/2020 05:21

Thankyou so much everyone for your replies I had no idea this was so common! I wish there was more about it online as they made it sound so rare and terrifying :(

May I also ask you lovely ladies, my sickness kicked in last night and I was up being sick but it felt different to normal sickness from upset tummy. Like I had no stomach churning or tenderness and as soon as it was Over I felt totally normal. Anyone else experience this? Is this how it should feel?

OP posts:
sel2223 · 31/07/2020 06:07

Yes, that's normal too....my sickness started about the same time but peaked around weeks 7-11.

Some times it was full days of nauses but not actually being sick, other days I could be sick at any time of the day or night with next to no warning at all. It never felt like a stomach bug.

Pregnancy is a very strange time, your body is doing an amazing thing building a human being and that can have a very weird affect on it. Go easy on yourself and try to relax a bit when all these new symptoms come and go.

Hi everyone, had growth scan yesterday (thurs) I’m 35 weeks on Say and our baby weighing 7lb 7. I’m a bit worried this is too big but Drs are not concerned.

Sophiehannah95 · 31/07/2020 06:26

@sel2223 thankyou so much for your kind reassuring words ❤️ I feel like pregnancy is such a minefield and nothing like I expected! It’s great to get advice from people who have been through it all xx

@Dawnie1983 congrats you’re nearly there! I wouldn’t worry too much, trust the medics as they’ll definitely let you know if there is cause for concern. Just be proud your body made a lovely chubby little babe ❤️❤️❤️

Thanks my lovely

sel2223 · 31/07/2020 06:35

@Sophiehannah95 you're welcome. I've not actually had my little one yet but am a FTM and 38+1 today. I remember the early anxiety well. Good luck with your pregnancy.

@Dawnie1983 you'd be much better starting your own thread for more responses.
