Bleeding after bowel movement

I’m around 7 weeks and feel like I’ve got a constant hangover, awful sickness.
I went for a poo earlier and had some red bleeding from my vagina. Has anyone had this before? Could it just be caused by the BM? I’ve had no cramping or pains at all.

Sure it wasn't from your bum? Could be piles or just general irritation

Bearcub01 · 30/07/2020 12:46

No definitely from the front.

I would phone EPU to be safe x

Prettylittlelady · 30/07/2020 13:14

If it’s from the front and you’re sure call the EPU. It might be fine but always good to get checked out Especially as it sounds like fresh blood

CoalCraft · 30/07/2020 13:32

When going for a BM you're sat on the loo, knickers down, and generally pushing a bit down there, so any blood that might have collected in your vagina has a chance to come out. It's probably not directly related to your BM iyswim

Bleeding at this stage is quite common (I bled from weeks 4-12, now week 17), but you should definitely let your GP know and ask about a referral to epu.

I’ve called the doctor so waiting on a call back. No more bleeding since and no cramping or any pains. Feel a lot better sickness wise too.

@Bearcub01 I had this a couple of times until about 13 weeks, I know they say not to google things...but I did and I found it was actually quite common. I think it was to do with extra pressure and some people bleed if the slightest thing aggravates down below. Definitely get it checked out though, best to be safe x

CC12x · 30/07/2020 17:58

Hi op i had this at 6 weeks and was due to a small tear in the sac. But best to get checked, good luck 😊

Sunsage · 30/07/2020 18:05

I had this in the early weeks a few times after doing a bowel movement!

Hope you're okay Flowers

Bearcub01 · 30/07/2020 18:47

This is all very reassuring. I’m waiting on my GP calling back tomorrow.

GP called and I’ve been referred to EPU for an early scan.

Just to echo some of the pp, this is a actually quite common - I wouldn't worry too much about it but it's good tou have the scan to put your mind at ease.

Firsttimemama2021 · 31/07/2020 07:56

@Bearcub01 I had this happen to me about 2 weeks ago at 11 weeks pregnant, was seen by ECU and they couldn’t see any other reason for bleeding thankfully and hasn’t happened since so was put down to the straining.

Hope all is well!

Bearcub01 · 31/07/2020 15:34

Thanks all!!

Scan went well, one little bean with a nice heartbeat. Measuring a few days later than I thought. Maybe just bleeding from implantation.
